Baseball, the Bronx, and Britain in Medieval from Neil Kleid and Alex Cormack

Xeric award-winning writer Neil Kleid and artist Alex Cormack go Medieval this November with a bombastic new series about baseball, the Bronx, and sixth-century Britain! Written and lettered by Kleid with art and colors by Alex Cormack and edits by Sarah LittMedieval issue #1 (of 5) debuts on November 11, 2025, from Amazon’s comiXology Originals exclusive digital content line.

Loud, brash, boisterous and over the top,Kleid takes a swing at something very different and out of his wheelhouse andhits a home run with Medieval, his most brutal, bloody, and vulgar – yet still emotionally grounded—comic series to date.

Baseball fan Danny Landau and his girlfriend Gina Rabinowitz attend a baseball game to watch their favorite Bronx team take on their most notorious rivals. After being hit by a line drive, Danny wakes up in sixth-century England, out of time with no skills other than a knack for construction, a love for baseball, and a penchant for violence. After spending the next year drinking and fighting, seeking a way back home to his girl and New York, Danny’s unique form of loud-mouthed chivalry – and “The Babe,” his custom-designed iron baseball bat – gains the attention of Camelot, and Arthur’s Knights of the Round Table, bringing him helm-to-boot with King Arthur, Lancelot, and Merlin, the notoriously wily magician who may have Danny’s ticket home… but whose true intentions aren’t trustworthy! When cultures clash and their meeting takes a violent turn, Lancelot suggests a Grand Tournament of valor, gallantry, and might as Arthur Pendragon of Camelot and Danny Landau from the Bronx – an ale-swilling, bat-wielding brawler – engage in a battle of the ages.

Kleid and Cormack let er’ rip in this violent, mature original comic about an irreverent, would-be, time-lost hero ready to go medieval on Camelot in order to find his way back home. As the 2025 baseball postseason comes to a close, Medieval will keep readers entertained well after the last inning and in anticipation of the 2026 baseball season!

Exclusive: Meet the Cast of Nice Jewish Boys

Writer Neil Kleid and artist John Broglia re-team with colorist Ellie Wright and editor Sarah Litt for Nice Jewish Boys, a modern day Jewish crime drama set in suburban New Jersey. The first issue is out now through Amazon’s comiXology Originals.

Inspired by a true-life criminal event, Nice Jewish Boys stars Jake Levin, a Modern Orthodox Jew, struggling to pay his bills, drawn into a triangle of secrets when he moonlights for his best friend, a kosher caterer-turned-criminal, who unbeknownst to him, is wanted by the FBI thanks to their other pal, a failed entrepreneur turned informant.

Behind a backdrop of synagogues and Sabbath meals, Jake and his childhood best friends, Chaim Davidovits and Lenny Klein, are embroiled in a delicate web of crime, cops, guilt, and gefilte fish, when this Jewish suburban crime story comes to an explosive head at a bar mitzvah packed with blintzes and betrayal.

Who are the nice Jewish boys? Meet the cast!

Jake Levin (45): A struggling writer and family man. Aside from his usual mortgage and bills, Jake’s on the hook for Hebrew school tuition, summer camp, soccer registration, High Holidays costs…and he’s got to pay for a bar mitzvah with a bat mitzvah to follow! Thankfully, his friends are willing to help, and despite his pride, Jake barters marketing/email work with his caterer friend Chaim who gives him a discount on meals for the event. What Jake doesn’t know, is working with Chaim means that his pride won’t be the only thing he’ll be sacrificing.

Chaim Davidovits (42): A man of appetites and gestures, big-hearted Chaim is a community leader, owner of three appetizing stores and an in-demand caterer. Friendly with the town council and local cops, Chaim is clearly a man of influence. He’s also a criminal—his business is a trafficking front for the Avodah (“the work”), his stores a vehicle through which he launders money. Additionally, he dabbles in stolen goods, credit card fraud and cyber crime. Chaim is satisfied in his small pond, benefiting from the close-knit, trusting nature of the Jewish community, and his family and friends (some who know, some who don’t) have reaped the benefits. But those appetites may be the death of him, as he seeks to expand his little empire. A staunch conservative, a vocal Zionist, a rabid Giants fan.

Lenny Klein (44): Athletic, easygoing Lenny had potential if you ask anyone who knew him as a kid. Unfortunately, years of poor luck have contributed to a slide into personal and professional decay. Divorced by Meredith, with whom he has a daughter, Shiri, Lenny’s happy-go-lucky nature has been marred by bitterness and alcoholism. Arrested for a yet-to-be-disclosed crime, Lenny has thus far skirted prison by agreeing to inform on larger crimes in the community…including those taking place in and around his best friend’s business.

Parker Levin (12, but almost 13): Bar mitzvah boy. Slim and well-liked, a good athlete but a troubled student, nervous about reading his Torah portion. Jake’s his role model, and the two enjoy talking out problems over a game of basketball or while browsing at the local comic shop. Parker has a sister, Olivia (10).

Nina Levin (39): No-nonsense, strong-willed, a nurse at Holy Name Hospital. The money is just enough to get by, and she is definitely the current breadwinner. Nina knows Jake will turn it around and encourages him to find part time work. She manages the house and is doing all the work for the bar mitzvah while Jake gets his act together—which may be why she hasn’t noticed he is entrenched in a life of crime.

Netanel Stern (37): Manager of Chaim’s Teaneck store. This former Clevelander is Chaim’s key chayal (soldier) in his criminal enterprise. Good with numbers and fists, he organizes drops and pick-ups using the trucks, and orchestrates communication and demands with the other stores. Dating Meredith, Lenny’s ex-wife, Netanel is the muscle behind the Avodah’s operations.

Shloime Garbstein (33): A Lakewood chasid, Shloime has a rabbinical degree from a Brooklyn kollel (Torah institute) and a knack for crime. The sharply-dressed mashgiach traffics and launders the Avodah’s ill-gotten proceeds while managing a ring of yeshiva scholars who service bored housewives, along with sidelines in real estate, larceny and extortion. His father leads a sect of hassidim in Lakewood, NJ…which is also a secret criminal empire far beyond the one Chaim, Netanel and Shloime have built in Teaneck.

Explore How America Reacts to a World Where Only Black People Have Superpowers in White

How does America react when only black people have superpowers? In the sure-to-be-controversial six-part comic book series White, co-creators Kwanza Osajyefo and Tim Smith 3, Inkpot-Award winning artist Jamal Igle, and cover artist Khary Randolph reunite for the sequel to their acclaimed graphic novel and Kickstarter sensation, Black.

How does a nation struggling with a history of racial inequality cope in a world where only black people have superpowers? Our story asks: In a time of supposed inclusion and diversity, how far will those in charge push back to retain the status quo?

Kwanza Osajyefo

In White, Theodore Mann, whose family exploited empowered blacks for centuries, is now President of the United States. Mann’s administration has exacted controversial measures to deal with the empowered he’s deemed terrorists and is stoking national tensions to win public support for Mann First, a cybernetically-augmented soldier program. The main person standing in the President’s way is X –  once known as Kareem Jenkins – who has become a symbol of resistance against the Mann Administration.

For White, the original Black creative team―Kwanza Osajyefo, Tim Smith 3, Jamal Igle, Khary Randolph, Sarah Litt, Derwin Roberson, and Dave Sharpe―will return for the second part of a planned trilogy, and will be joined by inker Juan Castro. If funded by Kickstarter, White will be a 6-part, ad-free periodical comic book series. The first printing – with variant covers – will be exclusive to  Kickstarter backers. Comic book retailers will be able to order standard editions directly from Black Mask Studios after rewards are shipped.

The number of backers of White will unlock Kickstarter exclusive variants by comic book industry legends: Ashley A. Woods, Jamal Igle, Jeremy Love, ChrisCross, Sanford Greene, and Denys Cowan.

Issue one of White is estimated to be delivered to backers October 2019. The limited edition variant of the graphic novel and comic book shop retailer bundles will ship to backers in early 2020.

The White Kickstarter campaign is live as of March 4, 2019.

Indigo, Waters, and X have traced the supply of VANTA to a single source – an old nemesis, SAVAGE, who has re-branded himself a businessman and is running the drug from his nightclub. The trio arrive in style and get to work, managing to get to Savage and getting the name of his supplier. That name triggers a reaction in Indigo that is more dangerous that VANTA ever could be, and her partners may not be able to keep her from going past the point of no return…
