Jason Momoa is the main man, joining Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow as Lobo

Lobo

After lots of rumors, teases, fan casting, and more, Jason Momoa is joining Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow for DC Studios as Lobo. Momoa previously played Aquaman in DC’s films which have grossed over $1.5 billion worldwide and has been vocal about being interested in the role. The casting was confirmed by Momoa on social media where he quoted his interest in the role and commented “they called.”

An anti-hero, Lobo grew in popularity in the 90s after debuting in Omega Men #3 in 1983. He was created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen. The character is a bounty hunter from the planet Czarnia who possesses superhuman strength, regenerative abilities, immortality, and an invulnerability.

While details for the Supergirl film are unknown, it’s based on the 2022 comic series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow which was written by Tom King and features the art of Bilquis Evely. It stars Milly Alcock as Supergirl and Matthias Schoenaerts as a the villain Krem of the Yellow Hills and will be directed by Craig Gillespie from a script by Ana Nogueira.
