Maestro Media announces Half Truth: Second Guess from Ken Jennings and Richard Garfield

Half Truth: Second Guess

Maestro Media and Nighthawk Interactive have announced Half Truth: Second Guess, a brand-new standalone game in the trivia series created by legendary game designer Richard Garfield and Jeopardy! champion and host Ken Jennings. The next evolution of the Half Truth franchise debuted at Gen Con.

Building on the success of the original Half Truth, Half Truth: Second Guess introduces fresh categories, surprising question design, and exciting new gameplay twists that reward both knowledge and intuition. Designed for parties, families, and trivia lovers alike, the game challenges players to think critically, trust their instincts, and sometimes take their best second guess.

In Half Truth: Second Guess, players are presented with fascinating questions featuring six possible answers; three correct and three incorrect. Players score points by selecting the right answers, but the deeper strategy comes from deciding how confident they truly are and whether to lock in their choices or rethink them before it’s too late.

Unlike the original Half Truth, which features a one-versus-one format, Half Truth: Second Guess introduces new ways to play, including team battles and 2-vs-2 gameplay. Players must work together, weigh their confidence, and decide when to trust their instincts or take a strategic second guess.

Players are tasked to do the following:

Test Their Knowledge
● Players answer unique trivia questions spanning history, pop culture, science, entertainment, geography, and more, where every question includes multiple possible answers.

Take Smart Risks
● Players score points for correct answers, but must decide whether to play it safe or push their luck for bigger rewards.

Outthink the Table
● Success isn’t just about knowing facts: it’s about reading the room, making educated guesses, and knowing when to trust a second instinct.

Designed as a fast-paced and highly social experience, Half Truth: Second Guess keeps all players engaged throughout the game, whether they are lifelong trivia experts or simply great at deduction and intuition. The streamlined format makes it easy to teach while offering enough depth and variety to keep every session fresh.

With a streamlined design and a price point approximately half the cost of the original game, Half Truth: Second Guess makes the series more accessible to new players while delivering the same mix of knowledge, strategy, and unexpected moments that fans love.

Half Truth: Second Guess will be co-published by Maestro Media and Nighthawk Interactive and continues the franchise’s mission of making trivia more accessible, dynamic, and fun for every type of player.
