This high sci-fi adventure series will definitely attract fans of Evangelion and Gundam Wing, along with fans of anyone who enjoys soap opera turmoil focused on found family.

In the year 2030, a family-run private defense company, Synap, secretly puts together the pieces of a mysterious giant robot while training psychically gifted individuals to one day control it. However, with the startling increase in UFO sightings, the family finds their time is running out to assemble the ancient machine.

All Hell has broken loose with the Chinese Government laying siege to recover the pieces of the Robot, while Ness has seemingly been possessed by the alien entity known only as the Glowing Child. Meanwhile, Shiloh’s inability to control the robot sends them into an internal crisis in the Axon Connection where Vivian gives them a glimpse at her past in hopes of connecting the puzzle pieces of who she is and her connection to Synap and Shiloh’s entire family.

Angeline journeys to China to rescue Driver Nine from the Axon Connection in exchange for parts to complete the giant robot. However, this task is anything but simple as Angeline and Ness attempt to overcome the lingering tension between them. To make matters worse, they are not the only ones looking to acquire the robot parts and the young ninth driver.

With UFOs firmly on Synap’s radar, time is starting to run out to rebuild the ancient robot. Roke sends Driver Seven to China to retrieve important cargo that’s vital to those efforts. Meanwhile, back Stateside, Shiloh’s training gives them a dose of history along with more visions of Driver One that leave Shiloh with more questions than answers.

Crowdfunding Corner: Limit Break Comics launches Wish Upon a Star

Irish comic collective and publisher, Limit Break Comics has launched the Kickstarter campaign for its fourth myth anthology, Wish Upon a Star. The campaign seeks to raise €16,500 in the month of March to publish a comic anthology of far-future adaptations of fairy tales.

Wish Upon a Star is the start of a new trilogy of myth anthologies, with Limit Break writers and editors Paul Carroll and Gary Moloney directing their attention to modern mythology.

The line-up of creators for Wish Upon a Star includes:

Overall, Wish Upon a Star received more than 200 pitches from creators around the world. Fewer than 10% were accepted into the book, accompanying stories by the Limit Break core creators: Paul Carroll, Gary Moloney, Gareth Luby, and Seamus Kavanagh.

If funded, the book is due for release in the second half of 2024. Accompanying the anthology on Kickstarter are a range of pins, stickers and prints, including work from Reckless Hero artist Chris Imber, and Irish illustrator Isabella von Metzradt (Helixel).
