Archie Creators Celebrate Free Comic Book Day

Free Comic Book Day rolls around on the first Saturday in May each year. Fans look forward to their own personal holiday full of gifts and fun!

Archie Comics has participated in FCBD since the beginning and will offer a rousing story in Pep Comics Featuring Betty & Veronica written by Dan Parent that Comics Alliance called “fantastic, and it’s another one that’s perfect for the kids coming to the shop looking for something fun to read.”

I got my comics for the week, did you?  Reviews will be Sunday as usual, but they might be at a decent time (earlier in the day) than the 6ish time period like last week.  If you haven’t picked yours up yet, check out Takio, it looks pretty entertaining.

Mr. PlowIt was either the above or reciting the Mr. Plow episode from The SimpsonsThe Ohio Department of Transportation has said Green Lantern comic books were the inspiration for the new green lights being installed on snowplows.

In an attempt to lower crashes with plows the traditional yellow lights are being replaced with the more easily visible green lights.  From the ODOT news release:

Taking a cue from the comic book superhero who uses green light to protect the people of Earth, the Ohio Department of Transportation is hoping a Green Lantern will protect its snowplows from a dangerous spike in crashes this season.
