DC League of Super-Pets Swoops to First Place

DC League of Super-Pets

It was another new film in first place this weekend at the box office as DC League of Super-Pets took the prize. The film grossed an estimated $23 million to take the spot. It also earned $18.4 million at the international box office for a worldwide gross of $41.4 million. The result is of course a win, taking first place, but the overall numbers are a bit mixed as other animated kids films have opened much larger this year. And with star power, the film probably should have had more support. We’ll see how the film does long term as school begins across the country.

Nope was bumped to second place dropping 58.2% in its second week and earning $18.5 million. Domestically, the film has grossed $80.6 million. The film has had no international returns and it’s a headscratcher as Get Out earned $79.5 million overseas and Us earned $80.1 million.
