Games Workshop Pre-Order Preview: Captain Titus and 500 Worlds Arrives

It’s a Warhammer 40,000 heavy pre-order weekend as Games Workshop has kicked off 2026 with the launch of its 500 Worlds storyline. Along with a new campaign book, there’s also new miniatures in Captain Titus for the Ultramarines, the Nekrosor Ammentar and C’tan Shard of the Nightbringer for Necrons and more. See what you’ll be able to pre-order on January 10.

After facing many difficult challenges, Demetrian Titus has been awarded the position of Captain of the Ultramarines 2nd Company (again), and now finds himself in the middle of a seemingly impossible task – though there is nowhere he would rather be than in the midst of bloody battle.

Captain Titus and The Wardens of Ultramar contains Captain Titus, Veteran Sergeant Metaurus and Ancient Gadriel, as well as Lucia Vestha, a plenipotentiary of Ultramar; the Astropath Dainal Kornelius; Gaius Silva, veteran commodore of the Ultramar Defence Fleet; and Aemelia Minervas, a Legatus in the Ultramar Defence Auxilia and commander of the 30th Macragge Defence Auxilia, who are attached to Captain Titus’ fleet. There are two head options for both the Astropath Kornelius and Veteran Sergeant Metaurus.

Captain Titus and The Wardens of Ultramar

The Nekrosor Ammentar is so horrifying even the otherwise implacable Necrons fear it, Nekrosor Ammentar is a locus for a murderous psychosis that enraptures Necrons. Over many centuries its form has become more and more tailored to destroying organic life, forcing Crypteks to outfit it with bladed limbs, a serpentine tail, enmitic projectors that allow it to tunnel through battlefields, and the devastating unmaker gauntlet. Despite its twisted form, Nekrosor Ammentar retains a fierce intelligence and has amassed a huge following, many inflicted with the Destroyer curse, others allying themselves with the terror for their own purposes. Its true motives unknown, Nekrosor Ammentar is now invading the region of space known by the Imperium as Ultramar. This miniature will receive a datasheet via Warhammer Community.

Nekrosor Ammentar

Once a sadistic god with the power to unmake the stars, the Nightbringer was shattered by the Necrons and the remaining fragments have been enslaved. The C’tan Shard of the Nightbringer is one of these imprisoned fragments, unleashed by the Necron dynasties upon enemies they want to humble in obliteration. A constantly shifting, living metal necrodermis assumes the form of a robed figure of death, armed with a scythe that flows out of its morbid form. With a single sweep of this blade it can cut down swathes of lesser foes, draining the life from opponents with a glance that does a cool D6+3 damage. Updated rules for this miniature will be released here on Warhammer Community.

500 Worlds: Titus – The Battle for Unity Begins kicks off a new campaign storyline for Warhammer 40,000. Roboute Guilliman, Primarch of the Ultramarines has commanded Captain Demetrian Titus to reclaim the Five Hundred Worlds of Ultramar. This task is immense in scope, and some fear it may be an impossible quest, as ancient enemies stir in the darkness. Still, we reckon Titus is up to the task…

500 Worlds: Titus – The Battle for Unity Begins is a narrative expansion for Warhammer 40,000 that covers the opening moves of the war for the 500 Worlds, with a focus on the Vespator Front and the story of Captain Titus. It is presented as a slipcase containing three softback books and a booklet filled with background and rules content for Warhammer 40,000.

500 Worlds: Titus is 80 pages of lore covering the beginning of the Ultramarian Reclamation, the characters and detachments in play, the legion of murder-maddened Necrons under the command of Nekrosor Ammentar, and the war for Novamagnor.

500 Worlds: Titus – Dread Incursions contains rules for Boarding Actions games set during the battles raging across the breadth of Ultramar. The core rules for Boarding Actions are reprinted, with 12 new missions – six for the standard terrain, and six for Tomb World terrain – plus extra rules adaptations, and two new Detachments – Shield of the Void for the Space Marines, and the Harbinger Cabal for the Necrons. There is also a set of four Dread Incursion Campaigns, with rules for fighting in voidships, Necron tomb complexes, deadly ship-to-ship battles, and in ruined space hulks and long-forgotten tombs.

500 Worlds: Titus – War on the Vespator Front is a 56-page book that contains rules for running a map campaign for two or more players based on the Vespator Front. It gives you the framework to run this campaign, detailing the various theatres of war, and six new missions packed with thematic rules to evoke the war. A separate fold out campaign map and a sticker sheet with 252 stickers is also included.

500 Worlds: Titus – Detachments is a 16-page booklet that contains new Detachments for Warhammer 40,000. The Space Marines are granted the Orbital Assault Force, Bastion Task Force, and Reclamation Force, while the Necrons get the Pantheon of Woe, Cursed Legion, and Cryptek Conclave. These rules will also be available on Warhammer Community and the Warhammer 40,000 app.

This narrative expansion will also be available in a luxury collector’s edition, which features all of the same content presented in a slipcase with gold foil blocking, and books with covers that match the treatment given to the slipcase, making it a stunning collector’s item for fans of the Ultramarines.
