NYCC 2015: MTV Announces Full Lineup for New York Comic Con – Releases Key Art for The Shannara Chronicles

MTV has announced its New York Comic Con lineup for October 9 and 10, featuring the return of “Teen Wolf” and the highly-anticipated convention debut of the new epic Sci-Fi/Fantasy drama, “The Shannara Chronicles.” Each can’t-miss panel will feature cast and producers from the shows and the debut of exclusive New York Comic Con trailers. Additionally, both casts will be signing exclusive New York Comic Con collector’s edition items. The network also released the first key art image for “The Shannara Chronicles” today, which is available here for download.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9

Teen Wolf Panel: 5:45-6:45pm (Empire Stage)

Andy Swift of TV Line will moderate a panel discussion and fan Q&A with cast members Tyler Posey, Dylan Sprayberry, Cody Christian and Executive Producer Jeff Davis as they discuss the current season and share a first look at the new season.

The Shannara Chronicles Signing: 5:30-6:30pm (Random House booth, #2204)

Cast members Poppy Drayton, Ivana Baquero, Manu Bennett to sign character portrait cards exclusive to New York Comic Con; author and Executive Producer Terry Brooks to sign copies of an exclusive edition of “The Elfstones of Shannara” book, the basis for the MTV series.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10

The Shannara Chronicles Panel: 12:15-1:15pm (Empire Stage)

MTV will introduce New York Comic Con fans to the world of “Shannara” when author and series Executive Producer, Terry Brooks, joins stars Poppy Drayton, Austin Butler, Ivana Baquero, John Rhys Davies and Manu Bennett along with Executive Producers Al Gough, Miles Millar and Jonathan Liebesman. Attendees will see a Comic Con exclusive trailer be able to participate in a Q & A with the panelists. Damian Holbrook, Senior Writer from TV Guide Magazine will moderate.

NYCC 2013: MTV Announces Teen Wolf Season Four and the New Wolf Watch Companion Series

MTV announced today to a crowd of screaming Teen Wolf fans at New York Comic Con that the hit series will return for a fourth season in 2014 with 12 new episodes.  Additionally, the network will debut the new talk show Wolf Watch set to air weekly after each Teen Wolf episode. The second half of Teen Wolf season three will begin on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT directly followed by the Wolf Watch series premiere. 

Today’s panel featured on-screen son and father duo “Stiles” and “Stilinski” played by Dylan O’Brien and Linden Ashby, respectively as well as Executive Producer Jeff Davis and was moderated by TV Guide Magazine Senior Writer, Damian Holbrook.

Wolf Watch will be hosted by Jill Wagner, who plays “Kate Argent” in Teen Wolf. The half-hour talk show will give fans even more insight into the hit series, covering topics ranging from the heavy mythology elements featured in the season, to the steamy romances and hilarious bromances that run rampant between the series’ supernatural high-schoolers.  The series will welcome guest appearances by Teen Wolf cast members sharing behind-the-scenes secrets and celebrity super fans will also drop in to get some of the answers viewers crave from week to week. 

These announcements come on the heels of a hugely successful first half of season three in which the show averaged a 2.5 P12-34 rating and 2.8 million total viewers each week, making it the highest-rated and most-watched season to date.  The first half of season three also ranked as the #1 program in its time slot each week.

To gear up for the second half of season three, fans can purchase a DVD of the first half the season on December 10.  All previously aired episodes are currently available for viewing on MTV.com, iTunes and Hulu with seasons one and two offered to Netflix subscribers.

NYCC 2013: MTV’S Teen Wolf Returns

MTV bringing back Teen Wolf for its second appearance at New York Comic-Con on Saturday, October 12, with a panel featuring Executive Producer Jeff Davis and on-screen son and father duo Stiles and Stilinski played by Dylan O’Brien and Linden Ashby, respectively.  The hour-long panel session moderated by TV Guide Magazine Senior Writer, Damian Holbrook, will give exclusive details on what twists and turns fans can look forward to when the winter season premieres on Monday, January 6 at 10:00p.m. ET/PT with 12 all-new episodes. Fans attending the panel will also get a sneak peek at never-before-seen content that will be featured in the second half of Teen Wolf season three.

The panel will take place October 12 in from 1:30 to 2:30pm.

NYCC 2012 – Teen Wolf

MTV is bringing Teen Wolf to New York Comic-Con for the first time, with a panel featuring series star Tyler Posey and Executive Producer Jeff Davis on Saturday, October 13.

 During the hour-long Q&A Teen Wolf panel session moderated by TV Guide Magazine Senior Writer, Damian Holbrook, Tyler Posey and Jeff Davis will take a look back at the evolution of the past two seasons and give exclusive details on what fans can look forward to next season.  Additionally, fans lucky enough to score a seat at the panel will get a sneak peek at exclusive content that will be featured on the Teen Wolf season two DVD.  The third installment of Teen Wolf will premiere in 2013 and feature a super-sized 24 episode season.

Robert Zemeckis on Comic Book Movies

During his press tour for his recently released movie A Christmas Carol, MTV took the opportunity to ask director Robert Zemeckis why he hasn’t directed a movie based on any comic books.  Zemeckis responded:

I’m a superhero fan, although I actually have never been offered one,” Zemeckis told MTV News. “I’ve never really brought one to someone and said I really want to do this superhero [movie]. Obviously, I love the form, as movies really are the extension of comic books.

And ever the professional, Zemeckis quickly returned the conversation back to the movie he’s promoting:

“The one thing about ‘A Christmas Carol’—it’s been made more times than Batman,” he laughed.
