Kickstarter Spotlight: Cryptozoic Entertainment’s HEX MMO Trading Card Game

Cryptozoic Entertainment has turned to Kickstarter to raise money for their trading card MMO game HEX: Shards of Fate.The game has been a well hidden secret for two years and the first ever real Massive Multriplayer Online Trading Card Game (say that five times fast). The first bits of the game was seeded in Cryptozoic’s World of Warcraft Trading Card Game.

With all the social interaction and roleplaying you would expect from a fully featured MMORPG, along with the deep strategic and collectible game play of a TCG, HEX is a completely new gaming experience. We’re designing full card sets, dungeons, storyline, community tools, advanced AI, and so much more. This is a massive undertaking and that’s why we’re asking for your help to bring HEX to life.

The Kickstarter page has all the details and Cryptozoic admits video game development isn’t easy, but the company is a solid one.

Best Pledge: $20 – You get a couple of starter decks as well as some exclusive cards. I don’t quite know how the game will play out, but this seems like a decent start to get you going.

Risk: MEDIUM – I think the game might slip on the delivery date, but it will be delivered.

Marvel MMO Gets Twitter Account

It’s been a long time in the making but Marvel has launched a Twitter account for their eventual MMO video game. The account nicknamed the Marvel Massively Multiplayer Society launched recently. It’s locked down so you need to request to see the Tweets, but it looks like it’ll be the avenue for the behind the scenes development of the video game.

Super Hero Squad Online.  Super Hero Squad Online offers players the chance to team-up with friends as they engage in exhilarating combat, show off their decked-out squad in the game’s social spaces, and collect thousands of items as they explore interactive environments based on classic and new Marvel worlds!

With everyone able to play in minutes, you can share your experiences with your friends and family while introducing them to a whole new universe!

Super Hero Squad Online allows people to discover their inner superhero. In Super Hero Squad Online, players can swing through the streets of Super Hero City as Spider-Man, bash bad guys with Thor’s mighty hammer, sling the shield of Captain and experience dozens more iconic Marvel characters. Every hero has their own signature powers, abilities and even some special surprises.

Marvel fans of all ages can explore new locations like the streets of Super Hero City, the SHIELD Helicarrier and Villainville; as well as discover familiar settings from the Marvel Universe, like the Daily Bugle, the Baxter Building and Stark Tower.
