New York Comic Con 2014: IDW Launches Marvel Micro Fun Packs!

IDW Publishing and Marvel Comics announced at New York Comic Con a new way for fans to keep up with their favorite Marvel Super Hero team, in the form of The Avengers Micro Comic Fun Packs!

The Micro Comic Fun Pack line is a format that IDW pioneered, fast becoming a fan-favorite. They consist of full-length, pocket-sized comic-book story, along with exclusive back-up material ranging from character bios to “how-to-draw” material to landscape pages designed for sticker interaction, as well as a range of different collectibles like posters, stickers, standees, or tattoos. The Avengers Micro Comic Fun Pack release will include a unique comic, character bio, standee and poster for fans to collect. Micro Comic Fun Packs reach new audiences with great content and are available at both local comic shops and mass retail locations like Target and Toys R Us.

The first set of The Avengers Micro Comic Fun Packs, featuring Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, and the Hulk, is planned for spring of 2015, with a second set due to be released for the 2015 holiday season.

IDW Publishing has been on a role with their Micro Fun Packs. Out October 15 is three new fun packs with Skylanders comics! “Welcome to Skylander Academy,” “Mini But Mighty,” and “Forgetting Flynn” are three micro comics, and each also comes with a poster and standee!

IDW introduces the My Little Pony Micro-Fun Pack!

IDW has announced a brand-new format in which fans can enjoy comics, the Micro-Fun Pack! This new mini-comic line will be available on November 15th, featuring four My Little Pony issues: Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Applejack. Everyone’s favorite ponies will all be shrinking down to a new 5.75” x 3.75” size, designed to bring the world of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic into your school bags and pockets.

With the new size also comes new content. The comics have also been re-lettered to adjust for the new size.

Each micro-fun pack comes with a complete 22-page micro-comic book that’s been re–formatted for the size. On top of adjusting for size, the content of the book has been updated as well, with a two-page My Little Pony play set splash page in the middle of each book, which provides the perfect backdrop for arranging the removable sticker also included in each pack. In addition, a three-page “How-to-Draw” tutorial has been added to each issue, sure to bring joy to any aspiring artist. On top of the comic and sticker, each pack also contains one of 16 different foldout posters and tattoos. That means My Little Pony fans will have plenty of opportunity to collect and trade these goodies with their friends.
