Summoner’s Choice is back, and badder than ever! Marvel Contest of Champions kicks off its annual Summoner’s Choice Champion vote on January 19th, tasking players to choose which nefarious Champion to bring in-game to The Contest. Eight candidates are up for vote…Only one shall be the Summoner’s Choice Champion of 2024! Meet this year’s 8 villains and get ready to vote for the worst of the worst.

Fans will be able to vote for one of these iconic Marvel characters to join The Contest this year:

SWARM – A keeper of killer bees who became the hive itself. This immoral scientist is now a sentient storm of sinister stingers.

THE BEETLE – A founder of a criminal enterprise known as “The Syndicate”, this villain represents a lot of high-flying high-tech trouble.

SHRIEK – Carnage follows this sonic beam-generating mutant (both literally and figuratively). She’s got a voice that can shatter her foes’ bodies and minds.

RUBY THURSDAY – Enhanced with organic circuitry to bowl over any who oppose her. She’s been everything from thief to gambler to political candidate, leaving no wicked career path unexplored.

VIPER – A ruler, leader, and constant force of chaos for Wolverine. This highly trained assassin is deadly and devastating with any weapon.

SHATHRA – A woman consumed by more hate and rage than any mere mortal could handle. She was transformed by this darkness and took the frightening form of a Spider Wasp.

BLOB – A true heavy-hitting member of the antagonistic Brotherhood of Mutants. This big bully is not to be messed with.

BLACK TARANTULA – A man of mystery and possible immortality, this super-powered crime lord may look to overthrow Battlerealm’s underworld.

HOW TO VOTE – There are TWO ways to cast your vote!

  • Collect your Ballot in Marvel Contest of Champions and vote for which Champion you’d like to win. Earn more ballots by completing Solo Objectives.
  • Head over to https://twitter.com/MarvelChampions and take part in the Social Wildcard to vote one Champion into the next round.
  • The winner will be announced on February 9!

Kabam has unveiled a brand-new challenger to the mobile fighter Marvel Contest of Champions – DEATHLESS GUILLOTINE! 

In years past, Champions from the Death Realm staged an assault on the Battlerealm. Empowered by the Death Stone, Thanos created nameless, empty versions of the heroes of the Battlerealm. Of these nameless Champions, a select few were granted malicious will and elevated to become the Deathless, to lead his armies and sow chaos and destruction. Guillotine was the first Deathless he created.

Kabam Celebrates 9 Years of MARVEL Contest of Champions

Celebrate 9 years of Marvel Contest of Champions and behold the immortalized tales of The Contest past, etched in stone by The Collector! Kabam’s mobile fighter Marvel Contest of Champions is celebrating its 9-Year Anniversary this month with a brand new trailer featuring fan favorite Champions from Venom, Hercules, Miles Morales, Sam Wilson and more. The Super Heroes face the greatest threat the Battlerealm has ever known. Check out the 9-Year trailer to learn how the Champions of The Contest will answer “The Call of the Ouroboros!”

This year also marked the reveal of Chee’ilth, the first-ever original First Nations Hero from Kabam, with her own original comic book that fans can read on Marvel.com.

The Marvels Arrive in The Battlerealm with New Special Event for Marvel Contest of Champions

The Marvels’ powers have been disrupted and an Incursion has caused them to be scattered across The Battlerealm. Marvel Contest of Champions is currently hosting a special in-game event for players in celebration of the latest Marvel film release. Players can log-in to add Kamala Khan to their roster for free, and complete Solo Objectives to collect Captain Marvel and Photon to reunite The Marvels.

There’s no better time for fans to jump into Marvel Contest of Champions and experience a unique roster of over 250 characters, the largest of any Marvel fighting game ever. Kabam and Marvel Introduce an Original First Nations Hero Chee’ilth and More in an Action-Packed Marvel Contest of Champions Update

Kabam has prepared an action-packed November to celebrate National Native American Heritage Month for its popular mobile fighter MARVEL Contest of Champions. Revealed at New York Comic Con this year, and created and inspired by First Nations people, Kabam’s first-ever original First Nations Hero Chee’ilth is entering The Battlerealm this month and is joined by Apache warrior Kushala!

World-renowned Canadian actress of Cree and Métis heritage Tantoo Cardinal narrated the all-new Motion Comic As Above, So Below—Discover the story of Chee’ilth and how she became the warrior who fought the malevolent being known as “The One Below All.” With over 250 Champions in The Contest, players can also add other classic Super Heroes, including Dani Moonstar and more.

Also, Kabam and MARVEL have come together to create an original comic illustrating Chee’ilth’s origin. Dive into the origin story of Chee’ilth in this custom comic that is available to read online for free on Marvel HERE.

The Sorcerer Supreme KUSHALA has come to The Contest to defeat an ancient and powerful enemy who threatens the entire multiverse with destruction! But Kushala will need more than just The Summoner’s help to fend off this foe. Together they’ll call on the aid of a brand new Champion unique to The Contest, the fierce and courageous warrior CHEE’ILTH! Will the combined might of Kushala’s magic and Chee’ilth’s skills be enough to overcome an enemy as powerful as The One Below All?

CHARACTER BIOS

When a nearby experimental gamma reactor went into meltdown, Gail Williams made the impossible choice to dive into the flaming wreckage and save her abusive foster father. In doing so, she showed her compassion, courage and fortitude and became the champion of two Divine Spirits, Brother Grizzly and Sister Eagle. The two spirits bestowed upon her their might, knowledge and healing gifts. Now she works to save those in need, even the gamma mutates cursed by The One Below All, as the hero Chee’ilth!

Kushala, a proud member of the Apache nation in the mid-1800s, was the sole survivor of a tribe slaughtered by U.S. soldiers. In her anger and grief, she cried out for aid, opening herself to a Spirit of Vengeance, a demon that helped her reduce the soldiers to smoldering ash. Horrified by the violent nature of her new partner, she sought to rid herself of its influence. She ultimately failed in this task, but along the way came to master the mystical arts, ultimately becoming the Sorcerer Supreme of her time and a staunch defender of our reality.

Set your reminders! Kushala arrives in-game on Nov. 16 and Chee’ilth on Nov. 30. In the meantime, players can now see the two Champions team up and  join The Contest in the latest Motion Comic and catch up on The Battlerealm with character Deep Dive and Special Moves content on the official MARVEL Contest of Champions.

NYCC 2023: Kabam unveils their first-ever original First Nations character Chee’ilth in MARVEL Contest of Champions

Today, on Marvel’s stage at New York Comic Con, Kabam announced a wave of brand new playable content, LIVE activities and upcoming plans for their award-winning mobile fighter MARVEL Contest of Champions!

Kabam unveiled their first-ever original First Nations Hero Chee’ilth. Created and inspired by First Nations people, Chee’ilth has been endowed with fighting strength from Brother Grizzly and the skill to heal from Sister Eagle, Spirits tied to her heritage. You can view a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Chee’ilth below. Chee’ilth will be launching in-game this November. Also, Kabam and MARVEL have come together to create an original comic illustrating Chee’ilth’s origin.

The TOP 8 have been chosen! Next week, Kabam prepares to host their first-ever LIVE fan celebration event and tournament – Battlerealm Brawl – taking place in the Vancouver area at The Gaming Stadium (Richmond, BC) on October 20 and 21. Players from around the world have competed to earn a chance to win the title of the ultimate Battlerealm Brawl Champion. Fans can acquire tickets for free to attend in person or tune into Kabam’s Twitch as they Livestream the tournament that weekend. Check out a sizzle trailer of what’s to come.

Act 8 introduces custom villains unique to Marvel Contest of Champions. Do you have what it takes to come out on top? Players have the opportunity to face Scytalis, the dark version of Natasha Romanov; Bahamet, the dark version of Bruce Banner; and now Cerastes, the dark version of Tony Stark this October! You can check out the new Act 8.3 boss, Cerastes in action HERE. Act 8.3 will be live in-game on October 18th.

A month full of thrills and chills looms ahead as Kabam unveiled two new Champions to its popular mobile fighter MARVEL Contest of Champions – man by day and Werewolf By Night joins along with the living vampire, Morbius! Players can watch the two prowl the night and lurk in the shadows as they battle it out in an all-new Champion Reveal Trailer “Champions of the Damned.” With over 250 Champions in The Contest, players can also add other classic Super Heroes and Villains from Blade and Man-Thing to Elsa Bloodstone and more.

This month also brings many treats as Kabam prepares to host their first-ever LIVE fan celebration event and tournament – Battlerealm Brawl – taking place in the Vancouver area at The Gaming Stadium (Richmond, BC) on October 20 and 21! Something runs afoul in The Battlerealm swamp! Join Midnight Sons veterans Blade and Elsa Bloodstone as they investigate disappearances linked to the quagmire landscape. Meet with WEREWOLF BY NIGHT and a cast of monstrous curiosities as the mysteries of the wetlands reveal themselves and the diabolical machinations of the maligned genius MORBIUS begin to come into focus. Can this team expose the truth and put to rest the chaos manifesting itself and rescue those who have been wronged by the Living Vampire?

CHARACTER BIOS

Upon inheriting the curse of lycanthropy on his 18th birthday, Jack Russell began his lifelong struggle with his werewolf alter-ego. Always pursued by beast hunters, criminals and other creatures alike, Jack regularly fights against those who seek to control his werewolf persona for their own purposes. Over time, Jack came to accept the beast within him and gained the ability to transform at will, only feeling the urge to transform on night of the full moon, thus becoming the Werewolf By Night.

In a hopeless attempt to cure his rare blood disease, Dr. Michael Morbius mutated himself with vampire bat DNA only to become a bloodthirsty pseudo-Vampire. Now he must fight a losing battle to overcome his insatiable desire to drink blood, which sustains his powerful monstrous form.

Set your reminders! Werewolf By Night arrives in-game on Oct. 12 and Morbius on Oct. 26. In the meantime, players can now see the two battle it out in the all-new Champion Reveal trailer and catch up on The Battlerealm with character Deep Dive and Special Moves content on the official MARVEL Contest of Champions YouTube channel.

Iron Man Remastered and Fan Voted Gladiator Enter Marvel Contest of Champions

Kabam unveiled two fan-favorite Super Heroes to their popular mobile fighter MARVEL Contest of Champions – A remastered version of the iconic Iron Man that was first introduced in 2014, in addition to the Summoner’s Choice (fan voted) Champion Gladiator! Watch the two Super Heroes battle it out in an all-new Champion Reveal Trailer “Echoes in Eternity.” With over 250 Champions in The Contest, players can also add other classic Super Heroes and Villains from Captain America and Hulk to Doctor Doom, Scarlet Witch and more.

Beginning Sept. 6, players will now have the ability to Ascend their Champions with the all-new Ascension feature! Ascension lets you power-up your 4,5 and 6-Star Champions beyond their current power level by utilizing a new resource called Primordial Dust. Which Champions will you be Ascending?

Gladiator and Iron Man must team up against the seemingly unstoppable Masters of Evil! Baron Zemo is back, and this time he’s perfected his homemade ISO-Sphere and has set his eyes on conquering The Battlerealm. Can these heroes defeat Zemo without succumbing to the power of the ISO-Sphere?

This month, in lieu of a second Champion, we’ve taken the time to give Iron Man, a Champion that was available when we launched the game in 2014, a total overhaul! He’s got a shiny new look, brand new animations, and a completely overhauled set of abilities! And best of all, if you already have him on your roster, you’ll be receiving the upgrade! The new and improved Iron Man will replace the Original Iron Man in-game when you update to v41.1.

The Summoner’s Choice Champion has arrived! After proving his worth as a mighty warrior, Kallark of Strontia took on the mantle of Gladiator and became the renowned leader of the Shi’ar Imperial Guard. Despite the Strontian’s near limitless power, he is one of the last of his kind and honors his people’s memory by serving as personal bodyguard to the Shi’ar Majestor and Majestrix. He is one of the galaxy’s greatest heroes, provided you are aligned with the goals of the Shi’ar Empire.

Set your reminders! For players who already have Iron Man in their roster, they will receive the remastered version on Sept. 5; Other players will have the opportunity to add the upgraded Iron Man on Sept. 28. For those who want to get their hands on the Summoner’s Choice voted Gladiator, he will be available on Sept. 14.

Photon and the Super-Inhuman Vox Enter Marvel Contest of Champions

The Contest continues and evil is breaking out as Kabam has introduced Monica Rambeau aka Photon to combat the Super-Inhuman Vox in an all-new Champion Reveal Trailer “Vanishing Point,” unveiling the new Champions coming to the popular mobile fighter MARVEL Contest of Champions. With over 250 Champions in The Contest, players can also add other legendary Kree to their roster including Captain Marvel, Hulkling, warlord Ronan and more.

Here is a quick look at what The Contest has in store this month:

Reed Richards and Galan scramble to plant a World Seed on Battleworld, in the hopes that a new

World Tree will produce enough planets to satiate the world-devourer’s hunger. Miles above them, Nova recruits PHOTON alongside several heroes from his past to form a new Nova Corps and give Reed and Galan some support.

However, the Kree have become aware of the heroes’ plan, and wish to take the newly-born World Tree for themselves. With VOX, their new super-inhuman weapon, they just might have the upper hand. Will our heroes’ combined strength be enough to protect the World Tree, or will The Contest, and everything in it, be consumed by the terror that is Galactus? Find out in VANISHING POINT!

CHARACTER BIOS

Monica Rambeau was a harbor patrol officer in the Navy when she was bombarded with extra-dimensional energy, allowing her to convert her body mass into any form of energy on the electromagnetic spectrum. She has since led the Avengers (ask her about it) and fought Galactus, going by the names Captain Marvel (before Carol Danvers ever used the title) and Spectrum along the way before settling on Photon.

The Vox are a race of genetically engineered Super-Inhumans built by the Kree to send one message to the Inhumans of Earth: JOIN OR DIE. Each Vox is reconstructed out of a brainwashed Inhuman and possesses a deadly collection of their combined abilities. Above all, the Vox’s most dangerous feature is their lack of humanity. They cannot be swayed or tricked or bought, for they want nothing but their enemies’ hearts to stop beating.

Set your reminders! Photon arrives in-game on August 17 and Vox on August 31.

Kabam announces Battlerealm Brawl, a Live Event for Marvel Contest of Champions

Inviting all Summoners! Kabam has announced Battlerealm Brawl, a live event celebration and Top-8 player competition taking place October 20-21 in Vancouver, British Columbia. This will be the first-ever official Marvel Contest of Champions celebration event just ahead of the game’s 9th Anniversary milestone where all Summoners (players) are invited to attend and enjoy the festivities!

Tickets are free for any and all fans to attend! Simply head over to the official website for more information.

Fans attending October 20-21 in Vancouver can catch all of the action live, including:

  • Battlerealm Brawl’s Quarter Finals, Semi Finals, and Finals competitions
  • Getting early hands-on experiences with new and unreleased Champions
  • Meeting opportunities with the developers behind Marvel Contest of Champions
  • Mixing-and-mingling opportunities with fellow Summoners of The Battlerealm!

To kick off the Battlerealm Brawl competition, Kabam will begin a search starting August 9 through September 6 for the greatest Summoner in The Contest. Players competing in the Gladiator’s Circuit of Battlegrounds: Season 10 will compete to qualify for the Battlerealm Brawl, where the Top 8 qualifying players on the circuit’s leaderboard will be selected and win a trip in October to the live event taking place in Vancouver, Canada.

These Top 8 qualifying players will compete in single-elimination brackets for the Quarter Finals (October 20) and then Semi Finals (October 21). The Finals will take place the evening of October 21 in a best-of-five match Finals competition to determine the one true winner of the 2023 Battlerealm Brawl!

In addition, this November will see Kabam introduce a brand-new Original Champion to The Contest. The Battlerealm Brawl’s Top 4 players will be the first to get this brand-new Champion and get more exclusive rewards. Visit this link for the full details!
