Liam McIntyre discusses Aquaman’s role in Justice Society: World War II

Check out new video interview clips featuring Liam McIntyre, who provides the voice of Aquaman in the next entry in the DC Universe Movies canon, Justice Society: World War II.

McIntyre is no stranger to the DC Universe Movies after recurring appearances as the voice of Captain Boomerang in Suicide Squad: Hell To Pay and Justice League Dark: Apokolips War. The Australian actor is well-known as the lead character in Spartacus, and for playing Weather Wizard in The Flash, as well as for his current regular roles on ThemStar Wars Resistance and providing a variety of voices for Family Guy.

In three interview bites, McIntyre discusses finding the correct balance for the voice of Aquaman, imbuing this version of the King of Atlantis with the appropriate, powerful/authoritative attitude; and the brave leave-them-wanting-more approach to the overall story of Justice Society: World War II.

Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC, the feature-length animated Justice Society: World War II is now available on Digital, and will be distributed by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack and Blu-ray starting May 11, 2021.

Justice Society: World War II panel set for WonderCon@Home 2021

Justice Society: World War II

The 50-minute panel will include actors, filmmakers and assorted clips and images from the all-new, feature-length animated movie. Justice Society: World War II arrives on Digital starting April 27, 2021, and on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack and Blu-ray on May 11, 2021.

Headlining the panel discussion are actors Stana Katic as Wonder Woman, Matt Bomer as Barry Allen/The Flash, Elysia Rotaru as Black Canary, Omid Abtahi as Hawkman, Chris Diamantopoulos as Steve Trevor, Armen Taylor as Jay Garrick/The Flash,  Liam McIntyre as Aquaman, and Geoff Arend as Charles Halstead/Advisor alongside director Jeff Wamester, co-screenwriters Meghan Fitzmartin and Jeremy Adams, and supervising producer Butch Lukic. Publicist Gary Miereanu moderates the festivities.

Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, DC and WBHE, the all-new animated adventure finds modern-day Barry Allen – prior to the formation of the Justice League – discovering he can run even faster than he imagined, and that milestone results in his first encounter with the Speed Force. The Flash is promptly launched into the midst of a raging battle – primarily between Nazis and a team of Golden Age DC Super Heroes known as the Justice Society of America. Led by Wonder Woman, the group includes Hourman, Black Canary, Hawkman, Steve Trevor and the Golden Age Flash, Jay Garrick. The Flash quickly volunteers to assist his fellow heroes in tipping the scales of war in their favor, while the team tries to figure out how to send him home. But it won’t be easy as complications and emotions run deep in this time-skipping World War II thriller.

Justice League Dark: Apokolips War is Out Today

Justice League Dark: Apokolips War is now available everywhere from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment — on Digital, 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack and Blu-ray Combo Pack effective today — Tuesday, May 19, 2020.

Culminating a seven-year, 15-film animated journey that began with the release of Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox in 2013, Justice League Dark: Apokolips War finds Earth decimated after intergalactic tyrant Darkseid has devastated the Justice League in a poorly executed war by the DC Super Heroes. Now the remaining bastions of good – the Justice League, Teen Titans, Suicide Squad and assorted others – must regroup, strategize and take the war to Darkseid in order to save the planet and its surviving inhabitants. This is truly the war to end all wars, and only the victor will live to enjoy the spoils.

About “Spartacus: Vengeance” (Premiering 2012)

From the time “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” debuted on Starz in January 2010, it established itself as an epic production with rich storytelling and visuals unlike anything seen previously on any TV show. Also starring John Hannah as Batiatus, Lucy Lawless as Lucretia, Peter Mensah as Doctore, Manu Bennett as Crixus and Viva Bianca as Ilythia, “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” was one of the most talked-about and best-loved TV shows of 2010. Season two of the series finds Spartacus and his fellow gladiators now out of Capua and engaged in the massive slave rebellion against Roman society that has echoed through time. “Spartacus: Gods of the Arena,” the six-part prequel that told the story of the House of Batiatus gladiator school, and the intricate personal, sexual and political maneuverings in Capua five years before “Blood and Sand” was set, debuted in January 2011.

In season two of the popular series, Liam McIntyre takes over the role of the Thracian warrior sold into slavery in the Roman Republic city of Capua – where he rises to become the champion of the city – before leading the slave revolt that ended the first season. The part was played in the first season by acclaimed Andy Whitfield, who was forced to leave the show due to health issues. “Spartacus: Vengeance” recently began production in New Zealand.
