Act 4 Publishing and Skybound Announce Jason Pearson’s Body Bags Artist’s Edition

Skybound and Image Comics, in partnership with Scott Dunbier’s Act 4 Publishing and Keven Gardner’s 12-Gauge Comics, have announced the upcoming release of Jason Pearson’s Body Bags Artist’s Edition. A unique inside look at the stunning artistry of Jason Pearson that took the industry by storm in the ’90s, this gorgeous, oversized Artist’s Edition will arrive in comic shops on September 23, 2026

This Artist’s Edition collects over 240 pages from Jason Pearson’s critically acclaimed comic Body Bags and is 12”x17” and includes the entire groundbreaking miniseries, plus short stories, covers, promo pieces, and more! Set in the near future, Body Bags focuses on an estranged father/daughter relationship, inside the world of bounty hunters and cold-blooded killers. Clownface and Panda’s story hit an emotional chord with many readers and has only grown in popularity since its release.

Each page of this modern comics masterpiece was written and drawn by Pearson, who consider Body Bags as the work that would most define his legacy. Also included are scans of  Michael Golden’s covers from the original Body Bags miniseries.

An Artist’s Edition is an art book disguised as a comic collection. Although appearing to be in black and white, all the art is scanned in color, enabling the reader to see the work as close to the original as possible – ink gradients, blue pencil, and all the unique nuances that make original art so special – are all clearly visible and printed at the same size as drawn. The only better way to experience these pages is by looking at the artist’s drawing board, as they’re drawing.

Jason Pearson’s Body Bags Artist’s Edition (ISBN: 978-1-53-433154-9| SRP $150.00) will be available atcomic book shops on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, and at booksellers on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

Big knives, short skirts, and swear words will fly.

Dave Bautista Will Star in Dogtown based on Jason Pearson’s Comic Body Bags

Dave Bautista is going from one comic franchise to another and has been tapped to star in Dogtown. The film is based on the comic series Body Bags by Jason Pearson. The movie by Bold Films will be written by Kyle Ward who wrote John Wick 2.

Bautista will play Mack Delgado, a professional bounty hunter who is so tough he’s a “body bagger.” Things get shaken up when his teenage daughter he never know shows up on his doorstep to reconnect.

This is Bold Films’ first comic based film and is a step for the company which is moving into larger budget films. The film is looking towards Deadpool for its tone mixing action and humor. The story though is about a father and daughter.

Bold Films is hoping to fill the gap of lower budget comic films that might be an alternative to the spandex dominating screens. Bold’s previous films include Whiplash, Drive and Nightcrawler.

A director hasn’t been attached.

The comic was originally published as part of Dark Horse Comics’ Blanc Noir line of books and was produced by Gaijin Studios. The series saw controversy due to the teenage (14-years-old) lead being rather buxom. The series was then reprinted by Image Comics’ imprint, 12-Gauge Comics. In total, the series debuted in 1996 from Dark Horse with a 4-issue mini-series, saw a 12-page story in Dark Horse Presents Annual 1997, a 6-page story in Dark Horse Maverick 2000, Body Bags: 3 the Hard Way was published by Image Comics in 2006, and Body Bags: One Shot was published by Image in 2008.
