Crash & Troy

WRITER: Jarred Luján
ARTISTS: Kyler Clodfelter and Bruno Furlani
PUB DATE: February 8, 2023
SRP: $16.99

Intergalactic mercenaries Rex “Crash” Ballard (a super strong grumpy mutant) and Troy 3.0 (a sentient software arts aficionado) find themselves in hot water after freeing a ruthless dictator from a maximum-security prison planet. Now, they must clean up their mess or find themselves locked up. This means working with a no-nonsense handler named Delphi, which is hard because there’s a lot of nonsense on the way. Also, there’s going to be an interplanetary war. No sweat for two “pros” like Crash and Troy!

With Crash and Delphi captured and Troy 3.0 seemingly destroyed, there’s nothing to prevent Supreme Leader Jongil from achieving his goal of interplanetary rule. Nothing except Troy making his heroic return in a new husk he likes to refer to as his “battle body.” Troy lays down the fire while Crash gets his rematch with Jongun. But will it be enough to stop total annihilation before it’s too late?

Crash & Troy infiltrate Wexia-2 in order to recapture Jongil and locate their Weapons of Super-Massive Destruction. But first, they’ll have to get through Jongun, the dictator’s beefy son. Crash goes toe-to-toe with the giant, while Troy and Delphi attempt to neutralize the Blackhole Manipulator before it can destroy Wexia-1!

The game is afoot as the super strong mutant Crash and his fashionable best friend / sentient software Troy 3.0 embark on a mission to undo the political damage they accidentally caused last time. Their handler, the no-nonsense law enforcement officer Delphi, is none too happy with the arrangement, and the trio clashes way more than they should on a dangerous op to capture an escaped despot with a bone-chillingly powerful military at his command. And because this is written exceptionally well by Luján, that clashing gets very personal, very fast, allowing for strong character development in the midst of the sci-fi action. And before this issue ends, the op itself is going to change dramatically.

Diego Gomez is tired of the drugs and violence that surround him. He wants nothing more than to escape west and leave the neon lights of 1980s Miami behind him. With the help of three friends, Diego hatches a plan to rob the most dangerous gang in the city, Los Marielitos. Filled with Latin-American influences, Dry Foot is a coming-of age-tale that deals with family, friendship, trust, and adversity. Many would kill to live in the Magic City. Others would die to leave it behind.
