Aspen Comics Soulfire Volume 7 #1 Debuts this July!

Aspen Comics is continuing their 15-Year Anniversary campaign on releasing classic “legacy” titles with the return of their best-selling Michael Turner’s Soulfire on July 18th. In 2018, the property is celebrating its fifteen-year anniversary since its critically popular debut in 2003, and subsequently became the #1 best-selling independent title the following year. Created by Michael Turner, the flagship action-adventure returns for its epic seventh volume with veteran Aspen writer, J.T. Aspen Comics Debuts Dissension: War Eternal & Nu Way this July

On the heels of their Worlds of Aspen 2018 Free Comic Book Day offering that premiered zero issues of their brand new titles, Dissension: War Eternal and Nu Way, Aspen Comics is set to release both series this July.

In association with ZMX Comics, the publisher is releasing the sci-fi action-adventure Nu Way #1 on July 11th by writer J.T. Krul with art by Alex Konat and colors by John Starr with lettering by Sal Cipriano featuring covers by Konat, Ryan Odagawa, Harvey Tolibao, Jordan Gunderson and more to be announced.

Aspen Announces Soulfire, Awaken Skies, and Artifact One

Aspen Comics has announced their final wave of new releases for their 15-Year Anniversary campaign. The Aspen Wave 3 titles follow the publisher’s anniversary year pattern of bringing back classic series such as their top selling Michael Turner’s Fathom and Executive Assistant: Iris while debuting new properties throughout 2018. Wave 3 kicks off with Aspen’s flagship title, Michael Turner’s Soulfire:

September:

Aspen’s supernatural action-adventure series Dellec returns for a second volume in September following the character’s recent appearance in the Aspen series No World. Created and written by Frank Mastromauro and Vince Hernandez, the publisher will release more details soon.

October:

Artifact One, a brand new action-adventure series from creators/writers Vince Hernandez and J.T. Krul and illustrated by Romina Moranelli, debuts in October with a zero issue available on August 22nd. Aspen will release official solicitation copy and more details soon.

November:

The hit 2017 series No World returns for a second volume in November from writers Scott Lobdell and Blake Northcott with art by Giuseppe Cafaro. The No World title unites many of Aspen’s most popular characters in one action-adventure series with a rotating cast each volume.

Aspen Comics Heads to WonderCon 2018

Aspen Comics has released their full WonderCon: Anaheim 2018 schedule of events for their appearance next weekend on March 23-25th. The Aspen Comics Booth #1213 will offer the world premiere of their fantasy action-adventure series with a special Jirni (Volume 3) #1 Jason Fabok WonderCon: Anaheim 2018 exclusive variant cover limited to 200 copies. Cover artist Fabok will also be appearing all weekend at WonderCon in artist alley.

Aspen creator Scott Lobdell (No World, Happy Death Day) will be appearing at the Aspen Booth on Saturday at 12pm to sign autographs.

Peter Steigerwald (The ZooHunters, Kick Ass) will also be appearing on Saturday only.

J.T. Krul (Jirni, Soulfire), Mark Roslan (Portal Bound, BubbleGun), Gabe Carrasco (Portal Bound), Frank Mastromauro (Shrugged, Overtaken) and Vince Hernandez (Charismagic, Fathom: Kiani) will be appearing all weekend long at the Aspen Comics Booth #1213.

The “Aspen Comics Celebrates 15 Years of Publishing” panel is on Saturday from 1-2pm in room 211 and will feature all of the aforementioned creators with a special inside look at upcoming Aspen titles, exciting news about Aspen’s future and more, including a Q&A with fans.

Aspen VP/Editor-in-Chief Vince Hernandez will be offering official Portfolio Reviews for artist samples Saturday (2:30-3:30pm) and Sunday (11:45-12:45pm) in Room 206B.

Aspen Comics’ Jirni Returns for a Third Volume this March

One of Aspen Comics‘ best-selling titles this spring with the release of Jirni Volume 3 debuting this March 21st, and continuing their 15-Year Anniversary plans to bring back classic Aspen titles all year-long. Fans of the critically acclaimed series created and written by J.T. Krul will also have several other Jirni-related items releasing in March to help catch them up to the upcoming series. Creator J.T. Krul discusses the return:

I couldn’t be more excited about the reception Jirni has received and cannot wait for the release of the third volume. I’m lucky to have Michael Santamaria onboard this time around, as we delve deeper into the mythos of the D’jinn while Ara continues her quest to find her mother. Torinthal is back, and his master plan is starting to come together, which could be a game changer in this world and beyond. Everything so far has been leading up to this story.

In combination with the Jirni Volume 3 release, Aspen is also debuting a special 25-cent Jirni Primer on March 21st that will serve as a supplemental jumping-on point for new readers and a refresher title for returning Jirni readers.
