Hound Comics Joins the Fight Against Bullying, Texting While Driving and Child Trafficking while Upping the Art Ante with Autodesk & Copic Markers

New York, New York  —  January 6, 2012 —  Hound Comics, Inc. President and CEO, William ‘Brimstone’ Kucmierowski recently kicked off 2012 with a few major announcements concerning new philanthropic ventures including his official signing as a celebrity spokesperson for “The Project Meridian Foundation” as well as the monumental partnership between Autodesk, Ad Counsel and Hound Entertainment concerning the, “Stop Texts Stop Wrecks” campaign.  Brimstone will make his first public appearance for Project Meridian on January 11th in Tallahassee, Florida with foundation founder, Nathan Wilson and Florida Governor, Rick Scott.  “PMF is proud to have Brimstone and Hound Comics as part of the team.  We are confident that Brim’s skills will be a great help on building awareness between families, friends, corporations and nations to fight this crime against children and young women,” says Wilson.

As for the “Stop Texts Stop Wrecks” campaign; the initial public service announcement was designed by former Disney animator and current Hound Creator, Terry Naughton, using the Autodesk product Sketch Book Pro.  “I feel as though this public service announcement has combined a team-up of epic proportions!  In all seriousness; we are anticipating that this campaign will help to reach the millions of young adults and also seasoned drivers who need to understand the severity of consequence,” says Etan Wish, Director of Operations and Project Management.  The PSA will begin its run in Hound’s flagship brand, Brimstone and The Borderhounds this month with its distribution in every Barnes & Noble, B.Dalton and a tremendous amount of comic book shops and convenience stores across the globe.  “We look forward to the opportunity of continuing this relationship with Ad Counsel and Autodesk as we believe in the campaign and what we can bring to it as a cohesive unit,” says Hound VP, Marcello Carnevali.

Also keeping in line with charitable causes, Hound’s Publishing Division is launching its first non-fiction piece by teen lawmaker, Jamie Isaacs.  The new book entitled, In Jamie’s Words is now available on HoundComics.com and Amazon.com as well as BN.com later this month.  The book follows Ms. Isaacs through her journey of bullying and how she became the youngest person in history to help write a bill for an anti-bullying law that was passed.  Jamie’s story has been featured in People Magazine and she is currently traveling to schools across the country while educating students about how she survived bullying.  She was seen earlier this week on WPIX 11, New York, discussing the recent tragedy of Amanda Cummings’ death due to bullying.

Vice President and Lead Artist of the flagship brand, Brimstone and The Borderhounds, Sajad Shah proudly announced that Hound has officially upped the art ante with the recent sponsorship deal with Copic Markers.  “Hound’s core artists will all exclusively be utilizing Copic as our brand of choice in terms of quality art markers.  As artists, we are literally ecstatic about endorsing Copic.  For those who aren’t in the know; comparatively – they are the ‘Bugatti Veyrone’ of professional art supplies!” says Shah.  Shah along with Terry Naughton, Mina Sanwald and Rich Arons will be seen promoting the Copic brand across the country once the 2012 tour commences.  Brimstone states, “We are thrilled that Copic has decided to support the Hound family!  I truly believe that our players will be priceless ambassadors for their brand.”

New York, New York – November 16, 2011 — It was officially announced earlier this week that Hound Comics, Inc. has signed on some incredible new talent in order to expand the Hound Comics Division.  “We are currently gearing up for a couple of amazing releases in the next few weeks leading up to years end!” explained Etan Wish; Director of Operations.  “Keeping in line with our mantra of ‘lead by example’; we have brought on the next wave of creators who deserve their time to shine!” says Hound President & CEO, William ‘Brimstone’ Kucmierowski, “Hound has built up a reputation of quality, so I’m anticipating big things for these new titles!”

One of the new releases comes from the father/son team of Chris R. Notarile and Chris Notarile, Sr. entitled, The ProtectorThe Protector is the ultimate noir piece with a great story backed up by phenomenal artwork. “When I saw the raw pencils on this project, my jaw literally dropped to the floor… it’s that good!” said, Thiago Castro; Director of Graphic Design.  Offering the base of an impressive cult following within the ‘fan-film’ genre, young Chris’ success certainly shines through the innovative and amusing take he has on popular classic franchises.  Now, Chris brings his imagination straight to the head of the class with his vision of this new hero. “I’m not looking to break the mold or recreate the wheel here; I love the quintessential hero as much as the next person.  I’ve stayed true to the ‘super’ blueprint, I just adjusted it enough to make the Protector unique in a sea of copycats.” says Notarile.

Hound has its fair share of legendary artists including Terry Naughton (Disney) and Rich Arons (Tiny Toons, Animaniacs); but new title M3 dons the artistic sequentials of the great Vicente Alcazar (Jonah Hex – DC).  Being the brainchild of author Erica Schultz, M3 features a female lead that is not only memorable; but also breathes life into a deep rooted story line.  “The character has literally lived in my head for so many years; it was about time that she made her way out!” says Schultz.

“In addition to the expansion of the print titles, we have begun releasing our weekly web based comic series, Hound Around Town featuring art by newcomer, Lauren Ladore.” says Frank Lamberti, CIO. “We will release a new comic once a week on Friday’s to keep the homepage fresh for our repeat visitors.”

Hound Comics has also released a brand new free application on iTunes with partners Blue Rocket Labs.  A Collection of Art featuring excerpts from the private sketch books of Hound artists including Shah, Naughton, Castro, Sanwald and Theresa Finnelli (Border-Pups Series) is now available for download at no cost.  Blue Rocket Labs will be producing all of the applications on the publication side including all Hound Comics, Hound Kids and Hound Publishing based titles.  “We are excited to not only have the ability to offer our entire library to readers on the move; but to partner with a results oriented company such as Blue Rocket Labs is truly a privilege.” says Kucmierowski.

Hound VP, Sajad Shah also recently announced a new addition to the art team, Pinn Soban.  Soban, who will be initially be concentrating on the Luscious based spin off Luscious: Riker’s Island written by Brimstone has signed on as an official Hound team member.  “Pinn has large shoes to fill between Sajad’s illustrations and running point for the main man himself, we are all impressed with his skills and overall work ethic… he’ll fit in perfectly here at Hound.” says Mina Sanwald, Artist & Animator for Hound.  Sanwald, who is currently working on two major projects for the company (The Big Book of Luscious Chicken and the Borderhounds spin off Hunt of the Jaguar) is overly protective of the Luscious character proclaiming, “If I didn’t feel justice would be done, I would have put my foot down!”

Hound Kids to launch four children’s titles worldwide on company’s one year anniversary

New York, New York – October 19, 2011 — Hound Comics, Inc. President and CEO William ‘Brimstone’ Kucmierowski announced earlier today that the Hound Kids Division will have its official launch on October 31, 2011 – the one year anniversary of the launch of their flagship brand, ‘Brimstone and The Borderhounds’.  Just in time for the holidays, the launch will offer the worldwide release of its four initial titles on B&N.com and Amazon.  “The Hound Kids line up will consist of some very heavy-hitters within the world of entertainment.” says Hound’s Director of Operations, Etan Wish.  Leading the celebrity based lineup is everyone’s favorite Wookiee, Peter ‘Chewbacca’ Mayhew.  The Peter & Angie Mayhew Collection present the combined efforts of the man behind the iconic Star Wars character and his long time wife Angie.  “We are proud to offer the ‘My Favorite Giant’ and ‘Growing Up Giant’ books to the public… what’s cooler for a Star Wars fan than being able to share a character they love with their children, while offering a positive message at the same time.” says Kucmierowski.  ‘My Favorite Giant’ features the artwork of former seventeen year Disney animator, “Terry Naughton” who has had a large part in the animating of major characters including the Beast, Genie, Zazu and King Triton to name only a few.  ‘Growing Up Giant’ features the art of Dawn DuJour who makes her debut on a grand scale.

Hound is extremely excited for their acquisition of Rich Arons who is best known for his work on Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, Freakazoid and the legendary He-Man.  Arons’ title, “Turbie the Turtle-Duck” will be among the four children’s titles available at month’s end.  “Although Rich has lent his talents to so many successful projects over the years… we feel as though ‘Turbie’ is the perfect character to appease fans of Arons’ past while grabbing the attention of new fans that will quickly define and solidify his place within pop-culture history.” says Jerry Cates of Hound Publishing.  Rounding up the explosive lineup is the first offering to the much anticipated, “Border-Pups” series.  The Border-Pups are the juvenile versions of everyone’s favorite Borderhounds while each book teaches children an array of positive messages.  “Border-Pups: CrashBat” features the illustrations of Theresa Finnelli with vivid colors by Thiago Castro.  The series is authored by the talented Courtney Freeman who is currently putting the finishing touches on the next two Border-Pups books as of press time.

Hound Comics, Inc. has also announced that each of the titles will be made available in application format for the iPhone and iPad via their partnership with developers, “Blue Rocket Labs.”  “We are looking to make each of the Hound Kids titles interactive in order to make each child’s experience memorable, fun and unique!” says Mike Hovland of Blue Rocket Labs.  Continuing the trend of Hound branded products for children, Hound Comics, Inc. and Little Brass Bird have partnered in the release of the “Little Brass Borderhounds” plush toy collection.  The plush toys consist of three major characters including Brimstone, Luscious and female Borderhound, Sasha.  “We love the response we are receiving concerning the ‘Little Brass Borderhounds’ since their debut a couple of weeks ago.” says Marcello Carnevali, Hound Comics, Inc. Peter & Angie Mayhew sign with Hound Kids to publish their children’s book series

New York, New York – July 20, 2011 CEO William ‘Brimstone’ Kucmierowski announced today that Hound Comics, Inc. has officially acquired the talent of Peter and Angie Mayhew as well as former Disney artist Terry Naughton. The signing of Peter Mayhew, better known to the world as the man behind the mask of the most lovable Wookiee in the universe, ‘Chewbacca’, is a tremendous acquisition for our blossoming Hound Kids Division. “We are excited to release ‘My Favorite Giant’ and ‘Growing Up Giant’ which will be dubbed, The Peter & Angie Mayhew Collection.” says Kucmierowski. Star Wars fanatics will have the opportunity to get inside the mind of Mayhew and grab an all-access pass through Peter’s youth in ‘Growing Up Giant’. Star Wars fans have never before seen this side of the 7’3” legend. “Even though he [Peter] is very shy, he readily agreed to share his story when I offered to help him write it.” stated Angie Mayhew. “I’m glad to be able to tell my story in a simple format with vibrant illustrations.” says Peter Mayhew, “I truly hope people will be able to gain some form of inspiration from reading this book, especially those whom may suffer with similar issues.” The quirky artistic style of Dawn DuJour compliments the intriguing storyline concerning Peter’s youth.

The true ‘diamond in the rough’ comes from the title, ‘My Favorite Giant’ which boasts art from seasoned artist, Terry Naughton. As a seventeen year veteran of the Walt Disney Animation Studios, Naughton brings a remarkable amount of established talent to not only the Hound Kids Division; but to the company as a whole. Naughton has been essential to the creation of some of Disney’s most beloved characters including, but not limited to, the Beast (Beauty and the Beast), King Triton (The Little Mermaid), and the Genie (Aladdin). “The addition of a skilled artist such as Terry to our family is icing on the cake, rounding out a very talented roster!” says Sajad Shah, Hound Comics VP.

Hound Comics’ flagship brand, Brimstone and The Borderhounds, is now available through Diamond Distribution

New York, New York – July, 2011 — Hound Comics, Inc. is pleased to announce that their flagship title Brimstone and the Borderhounds will now be available to comic store retailers worldwide through Diamond Comic Distributors’ July Previews.  Diamond, who is known to be the world’s largest comic book distributor, presents issue number five entitled, ‘Contest’ this month set for release in October.  “We are incredibly excited to be featured in the Previews catalog” says Hound Comics’ Treasurer and Lead Inker, Allen Chickering, “I know that I personally grew up purchasing my entire comic collection from local stores, so it’s great to have our book readily available to the neighborhood specialty shops.”

Hound Comics premieres ‘Brimstone and The Borderhounds: Forza Infernis’ at Wizard World’s Philadelphia Convention along with an Exclusive Unlock Code for a Secret playable character

New York, New York, June 7, 2011  —  Hound Comics’ Project Coordinator, Etan Wish officially announced that the initial application derived from their hit comic book series Brimstone and The Borderhounds would make its debut at Wizard World’s Philadelphia convention in June.  “We are very excited to enter into another new medium with our flagship brand.  We are anticipating that this will open the door for numerous endeavors concerning the gaming industry!” says, Wish.  The application comes prior to the highly anticipated console version dubbed, “Brimstone and The Borderhounds: The Video Game” set for release on the Xbox LIVE and Playstation Network later this year.  “We feel that in this age of technology, it is imperative to keep up with the competition.  Apple mobile platform owners will now finally have the opportunity to play as their favorite Borderhound characters while on the go!” says CEO, William ‘Brimstone’ Kucmierowski.

Brimstone and The Borderhounds: Forza Infernis will be a 3D Fighting Game that allows the player to choose from eight different characters.  Hound Comics will be offering an exclusive code at Wizard World’s Philadelphia Convention that will unlock a surprise playable character.  While supplies last, fans attending the pop culture convention can stop by the Hound booth and receive a redeemable card with an exclusive code to unlock the hidden character.  The game will include a handful of fan favorites from the Hound Universe including Brimstone and Luscious.  “It’s exciting to see these comic book heroes come to life… The Brimstone and The Borderhounds characters will certainly add a new dimension to the fighting game genre.” Says Patrick J. The Forza Infernis game will be available for download on the iPad, iPhone and iTouch and will boast theme music and background loops from rock band Zo2.  This is the initial release in Hound’s upcoming video game library per their agreement with Star Gaming Network.  Fans looking to celebrate the launch with Hound Comics and pick-up their special code should join Brimstone who will be making a celebrity appearance on June 17 – 19 along with M.H. Hound Comics, Inc. Announces Hound Kids Division

Hound sets their sights on the early reader market by announcing the details of the Border-Pups series as well as satire with Big Fat Book of Luscious Chicken 

New York, New York, June 2, 2011 —  Hound Comics CEO’s William ‘Brimstone’ Kucmierowski and Marcello Carnevali have announced extensive plans of branching into mainstream publishing including but not limited to children’s books and a satirical cookbook based on popular character, Luscious.  “We have made a major strategic addition to the umbrella of Hound enterprises by launching our Hound Kids Division” says Brimstone.  He continued with, “Essentially we are looking to expand into an array of children’s titles, however we will initially launch the ‘Border-Pups’ series in order to further brand our characters to a broader demographic.” 

The Hound Kids Division will be headed by Hound Corporate Secretary and writer J.C. Aracena.  Aracena, who also works with Starlight Runner Entertainment producing the series bibles for best-selling authors and films, looks forward to taking her writing to a different forum. “I’m excited to be working on my first publication and it is really fantastic to be working with the first all female team of creators within Hound Comics.“ says Aracena.  Illustrations for the Border-Pups series will be handled by published artist, Theresa Finnelli.  Finnelli, who comes to Hound with a BFA in Design and Technology as well as an Associate’s Degree in Visual Communications, is an accomplished illustrator with current works such as Papparri and Little Laila Lafir through ZaiGirl Publishing.  “Theresa’s artwork is so visually stunning that we virtually hired her on the spot!  I can’t wait to see the chemistry between Jenn and Theresa in developing this monumental series; I anticipate very big things from this extremely talented team!” says Brimstone.

Hound Comics, Inc. who is known primarily for its flagship brand’s comic title Brimstone and The Borderhounds is expanding at a rapid pace.  “We have tremendous plans for growth throughout all aspects of entertainment and media.  We’d eventually like to be at a point where when someone thinks of entertainment, they think Hound.” says Sajad Shah, Hound Comics VP and lead artist for the Borderhounds series.  Another key project for Hound is the Big Fat Book of Luscious Chicken starring non-other than fan-favorite, Luscious.  This satiric cookbook will be the first ever ‘graphic novel’ style piece of its kind.  As the actual inspiration behind the Luscious character, Eddie Castillo looks to continue bringing the lovable chicken-loving lug to life.  The live portion of the book will feature Castillo himself preparing various dishes in a traditional yet truly original way.

Hound is counting their chickens (pun intended) that the extended title, “I’m Talkin’ ‘Bout Lip Smackin’ Mouth-Waterin’ Why Can’t My Momma Cook Like This Kinda Recipes That Make Your Tastebuds Pop” will prove apparent that this is certainly unlike any recipe book you’ve ever seen!  Special celebrity guest appearance and recipes by Danny Gagnon of Top Chef will solidify the titles integrity.  Hound Comics is also ecstatic to have recruited bright young artist Mina Sanwald to handle illustration duties for the ‘cartoon’ versions of Luscious throughout the eclectic cookbook.  “Mina provides a quirky and unique version of the character that we believe fans and new readers will fall in love with.  Her main objective will be to portray the comical hijinx that embody Lush.” explains Hound Project Coordinator, Etan Wish.  Sanwald comes to Hound with a Bachelors degree in animation and illustration and is currently collaborating with the King of independent animation Bill Plympton.  “I’ve literally fallen in love with drawing the character” says Sanwald, “It is a great feeling becoming a part of the Hound Comics family!”

Pop Culture Icon Signs on to voice character for Brimstone and The Borderhounds: The Animated Series

New York, New York; March 8th, 2011 – New York lived up to its name as the city that never sleeps Tuesday evening as it played host to the infamous Hound Comics’ release party for its flagship brand, Brimstone and The Borderhounds issue number two.  The title turned heads in the months prior as the only independently owned and operated comic book company distributed in Barnes & Noble, the largest book retailer in the world!  Dual CEOs William ‘Brimstone’ Kucmierowski and Marcello Carnevali welcomed everyone to join them in celebrating the rapid growth of the corporation.  Guests were pampered with gourmet finger foods compliments of the hosting venue, Stone Creek Bar & Lounge.

It was almost too difficult to move around in the jam packed location where celebrity guests casually made themselves at home within the crowded room.  Cast members of the Borderhounds animated series were on hand including Claire Unabia (America’s Next Top Model), Darra ‘Like Dat’ Boyd (VH1), Low-Ki (Formally Kaval in WWE and Senshi in TNA) Jose Hernandez, Jr. (HBO’s Oz), and Eddie ‘Luscious’ Castillo.  MTV2 bombshell Desi Sanchez, boxer/prince Punchin’ Pat Nwamu, Peter Miller (The Irishman), Jason Cicardo (The Player – UPN), and Criss Angel’s producer, musician Micky James were a few of the celebs who dropped in to show love and support for everything Borderhounds.  Also in attendance were Dee Boyd and Damon Wong of Floating Pear Productions, the animation house behind the series.

Immediately following the presentation of the New York City premiere of Brimstone and The Borderhounds: The Animated Series; party goers were astonished at the announcement concerning the newest celebrity lending their voice to an already motley crew of cast members.  Webster’s definition describes a pop icon as, “A celebrity whose popularity remains constant or even increases as time goes by.”  It was revealed that the pop culture icon was none other than famed British actor, Peter Mayhew; better known across the galaxy as the legendary character Chewbacca of Star Wars.  Mayhew will provide the mysterious voice guiding the audience from episode to episode under the guise of “The Architect”.

Another announcement from the Hound Comics team was the upcoming release of, “The BIG Book of Luscious Chicken” featuring the real Luscious, Eddie Castillo, which the character for the book is based on.  The live action cook book is the first project in the works in line with the plans to create a line of Borderhounds branded materials that will be available to fans.  “We are looking to run the gambit of utilizing our most popular characters to innovate new ways of promoting the brand as a whole.” says Brimstone who continues with, “Luscious being one of the most beloved characters in the fledgling universe; he gets to be the proverbial guinea pig in our plans to take the entertainment world by storm!”
