She-Spawn #1, Todd McFarlane Incentive Covers Revealed

Todd McFarlane Productions is expanding the debut of She-Spawn #1—the upcoming five-issue Spawn Universe miniseries written by award-winning comics writer Gail Simone and illustrated by Ig Guara—with the reveal of a new cover by Todd McFarlane, featured across a set of incentive variants, with additional covers now joining the lineup ahead of the series’ May release.

McFarlane’s cover will appear in multiple formats, including a 1:100 Virgin Foil, a 1:250 black-and-white edition signed by McFarlane, and a 1:500 version signed by both McFarlane and Simone.

Also joining the lineup are new covers by Mirka Andolfo and Emma Ríos, both making their Spawn Universe cover debut. Each puts their own stamp on Jessica Priest as she takes center stage in her first solo series.

She-Spawn follows Jessica Priest as she is drawn into a violent conflict with an extremist religious sect, forcing her to confront the weight of her past while fighting to protect an innocent life.

She-Spawn #1 will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Final Order Cutoff is April 13.

Mad About DC doesn’t hold back and makes us miss Mad Magazine

Chip Zdarsky is a funny guy. Remember when he made that whole April Fools’ gag comic with rub ’n’ smell farts? Oh, wait, that was me, DC Comics E-I-C Marie Javins. Chip was the one saying, “I’d turn back if I were you,” but he couldn’t stop me. Editors are a self-destructive lot. Which is why this year, I said, “I give up, you do it, Chip, you are so much funnier and prettier and also better with cats than I am.” And look, he went and did it. Chip demoted himself to “editor.” Chip is turning the DC universe on its ear and bringingyou savage mockery of all we hold dear, and he is assisted in this brutal task by Matt Fraction, Gail Simone, Skottie Young, and many, many more. Next year? Back to farts. Includes MAD favorite Sergio Aragonés with “A MAD Look at Comic Book Stores,” “Guy vs. Spy” by Jim Zub and Ramon Perez, and a DC Fold-In by Charles Soule and Ryan Browne. Plus a slew of MAD-style parodies of all DC Comics you hold dear, and some you’ve always hated anyway. MAD About DC #1 will fulfill your every comic book dream, or at least three or four of them.

LEGENDARY CREATORS TAKE ON THE MAN OF STEEL AND YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN! Written by Mark Waid, Tom King, Matt Fraction, Sean Murphy, Gail Simone, Christopher Priest, Greg Rucka and Jeff Lemire Art by Jorge Jimenez, Jim Lee, Steve Lieber, Sean Murphy, Belen Ortega, Daniel Sampere, Nicola Scott and Rafa Sandoval The Last Son of Krypton meets your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!

When journalists Clark Kent and Peter Parker find themselves chasing the same story, the conspiracy they uncover could change the world — especially if Brainiac and Doctor Octopus have anything to say about it. (And we bet they do!) Good thing our intrepid newshounds are secretly Superman and the amazing Spider-Man. Brought to you by legendary storytellers Mark Waid and Jorge Jimenez.

And don’t miss these bonus stories: Tom King and Jim Lee tell a tale of Lois Lane and Mary Jane Watson. Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber revisit Superman’s pal Jimmy Olsen… and Carnage! Sean Murphy, meanwhile, takes us to the future with Superboy (Legion) and Spider-Man 2099. Gail Simone teams up with Belen Ortega for a look at what happens when Power Girl meets Punisher. Christopher Priest and Daniel Sampere show us a time when Superboy Prime (who reads all the comics) decided to visit Spider-Man right after he got the black suit. Greg Rucka and Nicola Scott take us on an exciting race — between the Daily Planet and the Daily Bugle. Plus, we finally get to answer the age-old question of who would win in a fair fight, Pa Kent or Uncle Ben! Just kidding, those guys are too nice to fight each other, but Jeff Lemire and Rafa Sandoval will take us deep into the past to see the two men bond in the face of adversity. Celebrate 50 years of DC/Marvel crossovers with eight new original stories by some of DC’s top talent!
