FoursquareFor those heading to New York Comic Con and use Foursquare (like me!) you’ll get a chance to unlock a badge that’ll elevate you to the exalted Green Lantern Corps!

Warner Bros. Television Group, DC Entertainment and Foursquare are going green at New York Comic Con, offering fans the chance to unlock an exclusive Green Lantern badge during the three-day show.

How does it work? Well, if you’re at the con, simply check in to Foursquare and you’ll unlock the badge. Head over to the DC Comics booth (#2243) and show your badge and you get an exclusive Green Lantern replica ring.

Expect me to have this achievement unlocked on the first day.  So cool!

Graphic.ly, the digital comic reader, is bringing famous “comic book” locations to Foursquare.  By friending the company on the site, you can find out where famous fictitious events took place in the real world as well as locations with historical significance in comic book history.  This is an amazing blend of new media and also a fantastic promotional idea.  From their email:

We have partnered with Foursquare to bring the comic world to the real world. If you go to our Foursquare profile you will see (soon – like in the next couple of days) tips about real locations in the world that correspond to the world of comics!
