Get a first look at Elita Prime’s Fight for Cybertron in Transformers #37

Skybound, Image Comics, and Hasbro have shared a first look at Transformers #37 from the creative team of writer Robert Kirkman, guest artist Karl Kerschl, colorist Mike Spicer, and letterer Rus Wooton. The new story arc begins with a standalone Elita Prime story in Transformers #37, available in comic book shops on October 14, 2026. 

The price of being Prime! How far will Elita Prime go to win the war on Cybertron? 

In addition to the main cover by artist Jason Howard, the lineup of variant covers for Transformers #37 includes an open-to-order cover B by Daniel Warren Johnson and Mike Spicer, an open-to-order cover C by David Nakayama, a 1:25 incentive variant by Nick Bradshaw and Jim Charalampidis, a 1:50 incentive variant by Ethan Young, a specialty finish cover by David Lafuente, and a blank sketch cover. 

Fans can preview Elita Prime’s next move in the war for Cybertron with this first look at the upcoming issue.

ROM returns! ROM Special #1 and M.A.S.K. Origins #1 go Open to Order

Skybound, Image Comics, and Hasbro have announced the much-demanded open to order release of ROM Special #1, reprinting the surprise first appearance of the pop culture icon in the Energon Universe, as well as M.A.S.K. Origins #1. Both issues initially released in the M.A.S.K. #1 Blind Bag program and will now be available at comic book shops on August 26, 2026. 

Void Rivals co-creators, writer Robert Kirkman and artist Lorenzo De Felici, reunited to introduce space knight ROM to the Energon Universe in this standalone special issue.  

ROM Special #1 features a main cover by Lorenzo De Felici and a variant cover program including open to order covers by Christian Ward, E.J. Su, Nick Bradshaw and Jim Charalampidis, a foil, die-cut mask cover by John Amor, and a blank sketch cover. 

Fans can expect to see more of ROM and his alien companion ‘Carpet’ in upcoming issues of Void Rivals! 

M.A.S.K. Origins #1 is a double-sized issue that collects the first appearances of M.A.S.K. and V.E.N.O.M. and other landmark Energon Universe moments that led to the launch of M.A.S.K.! 

M.A.S.K. Origins #1 features a main cover by series artist Pye Parr and a variant cover program including open to order covers by Jason Howard, Ethan Young, Danilo Beyruth and Neeraj Menon, and Ben Oliver.

DC Announces Superman: The Stranger by Wes Craig

DC has announced that it will return readers to the first days of the Man of Tomorrow with Superman: The Stranger, a new six-issue DC Black Label comic book series launching in September, written and illustrated by Wes Craig. Set in an Art Deco-inspired 1938 Metropolis, the series reimagines Superman’s earliest adventures through a modern storytelling lens while drawing heavily from the visual language of DC’s Golden Age of comic books and the Fleischer Studios Superman cartoons.

In Superman: The Stranger, readers will follow Superman at the very beginning of his journey. During the day, Clark Kent does what he can to make ends meet in the bustling city of Metropolis, but when the sun goes down, he leaps into action to keep the city streets safe. As Superman, Clark fights for a better tomorrow, but he feels like he’s not affecting change. The rich keep getting richer, and the poor struggle to survive. Can Superman truly save the downtrodden?

Superman: The Stranger, a six-issue DC Black Label comic book series written and illustrated by Wes Craig with colors by Jason Wordie and lettering by Tom Napolitano, will feature variant covers by Dave Johnson, Goran Parlov, and Ethan Young on the debut issue. Superman: The Stranger #1 arrives wherever comic books are sold on September 2, 2026, with all covers printed on cardstock for $4.99 US, and will carry DC’s Ages 17+ content descriptor for mature readers.

Skybound, Image Comics, and Hasbro have revealed a preview and an lineup of variant covers for Transformers #8, from writer Daniel Warren Johnson, artist Jorge Corona, and colorist Mike Spicer. The next chapter of the Energon Universe story everyone is talking about will be available on shelves in comic book shops May 8, 2024.  

As the Autobots and Decepticons make some tough choices to survive on Earth, the return of a fan-favorite Decepticon will change the war on Cybertron forever. 

In addition to the main cover by Daniel Warren Johnson and Mike Spicer, the stacked list of variant covers for Transformers #8 includes a cover B by new series artist Jorge Corona and Mike Spicer, a 1:10 incentive variant beginning a new connecting cover series by Karen S. Wakanda bangs the drum of war in the Ultimate Black Panther trailer

Wolverine claws his way through Marvel history with variant covers in January 2024

Next year marks 50 years of Wolverine being the best there is and Marvel will celebrate its most ferocious hero in various ways including new series like the recently announced Wolverine: Madripoor Knights, special reprints, and a new variant cover program!

Launching in January, the Wolverine Wolverine Wolverine Variant Covers sees Logan take over the most iconic covers in Marvel Comics history, filling in as each and every character along the way!
