Dark Horse Books, Critical Role, and Amazon MGM Studios have announced The Legend of Vox Machina: The Whitestone Chronicles Library Edition, a new hardcover edition collecting The Legend of Vox Machina: The Whitestone Chronicles—Ripley, Cassandra, and The Briarwoods.

All three prequel stories to the hit animated series The Legend of Vox Machina are written by Marieke Nijkamp; illustrated by Tyler Walpole, Travis Hymel, and Aviv Or; colored by Walpole and Diana Sousa; and lettered by Comicraft.

This set of interconnected graphic novels delves deeper into the world of The Legend of Vox Machina Season 1 and shines a light on the show’s offscreen storylines.

The library edition will also feature brand-new cover art by Or.

Get a deeper look into the pasts of iconic characters from The Legend of Vox Machina animated series with this hardcover collection of prequels! SDCC 2026: Stage Tour turns the page with a Dark Horse Comic, Hands on Gameplay, and more!

RedOctane Games has unveiled a host of Stage Tour announcements, following their recent debut at IGN Live 2026. Inspired by the energy of live performance, music culture, and the community that continues to fuel the genre, Stage Tour is set to reignite the rhythm game genre when it launches later this year.

Headlining the announcement is an exclusive partnership with Dark Horse Comics, bringing the world of Stage Tour to comics for the first time through a special one-shot issue debuting at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. Expanding the lore of the Stage Tour universe, the comic offers fans a new way to experience the bandmates that help shape the world behind the game, featuring cover art by Kim Hu, script by Zoe Tunnell, art by Liana Kangas, colors by Diana Sousa, and lettering by Comicraft’s Tyler Smith.

The limited-edition comic will be available exclusively to SDCC attendees while supplies last and will also be included as a free bonus collectible with future Stage Tour hardware bundle pre-orders.

RedOctane Games also confirmed today that Stage Tour is confirmed for release on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Nintendo Switch™2, and PC. Steam wishlists are available now, with PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X|S wishlists and pre-orders to follow.

Experience Stage Tour at SDCC 

Attendees visiting San Diego Comic-Con will have the opportunity to experience Stage Tour for themselves, heading over to Booth #2834 to be one of the first to go hands-on with the latest closed alpha build, playable on custom-built arcade cabinets developed in partnership with Paradox Arcades.

The playable demo will feature a selection of previously announced songs, while showcasing the latest gameplay refinements shaped by feedback from IGN Live attendees and the growing community of closed alpha testers.

In addition to the game, attendees will be among the first to experience the official Kramer Guitar Controller for Stage Tour. Pre-production demo units of the officially licensed controller-featuring the classic design of Kramer guitars-will be available throughout the event, giving fans an exclusive early look at the hardware ahead of its planned release and securing their own controller for themselves ahead of launch.

Fans can also pick up the exclusive Stage Tour comic at both the Stage Tour booth #2834 and the Dark Horse Comics booth #2615 while supplies last.

Since its reveal earlier this year, Stage Tour has continued to unveil songs from its officially licensed soundtrack, bringing the total number of confirmed tracks to sixteen.

The sixteen songs revealed so far represent a small preview of the soundtrack planned for launch. Fans can expect additional song reveals, gameplay updates, and major announcements throughout the summer as Stage Tour builds toward pre-orders and its release later this year.

Dark Horse Books and Critical Role present the Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins Omnibus Volume 1, a new softcover book that will collect Jester Lavorre, Caleb Widogast, Yasha Nydoorin, and Nott the Brave’s backstories together in one volume. These stories were created in consultation with the cast of Critical Role and were written by Jody Houser, Sam Maggs, and Cecil Castellucci, illustrated by Selina Espiritu, Hunter Severn Bonyun, and William Kirkby, colored by Cathy Le and Diana Sousa; and lettered by Ariana Maher. The first paperback omnibus volume will arrive in stores in Summer 2026 and will feature cover art by Robynn Frauhn.

While these stories have been previously released as individual hardcover volumes and the Dark Horse signature Library Edition oversized hardcover format, these new paperback Omnibus collections offer the content in a new format for those who prefer a paperback option.

Critically injured and seemingly abandoned by her brother after the murder of her family, Cassandra de Rolo finds herself at the mercy of Whitestone’s usurpers. Much to her shock, Delilah and Sylas Briarwood treat her with the utmost care—almost like a daughter—as she recovers within the relative safety of her own childhood bedroom. On edge and suspicious of their motives, Cassandra adapts to survive while processing the trauma of her family’s demise and Percy’s abandonment.

Dark Horse Books and Critical Role present Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins IV, available in Summer 2025 in a collected volume, which will be presented both in paperback and a Deluxe Edition hardcover. Created in consultation with the cast of Critical Role, this new adventure is written by New York Times-bestselling author Jody Houser, illustrated by Noah Hayes, colored by Diana Sousa, and lettered by Ariana Maher.

After the disappearance of Sir Fince, Vox Machina is tasked with investigating his whereabouts. After some poking and prodding, the team is led to a mysterious basement where dark forces loom. Crowdfunding Corner: Limit Break Comics launches Wish Upon a Star

Irish comic collective and publisher, Limit Break Comics has launched the Kickstarter campaign for its fourth myth anthology, Wish Upon a Star. The campaign seeks to raise €16,500 in the month of March to publish a comic anthology of far-future adaptations of fairy tales.

Wish Upon a Star is the start of a new trilogy of myth anthologies, with Limit Break writers and editors Paul Carroll and Gary Moloney directing their attention to modern mythology.

If funded, the book is due for release in the second half of 2024. Accompanying the anthology on Kickstarter are a range of pins, stickers and prints, including work from Reckless Hero artist Chris Imber, and Irish illustrator Isabella von Metzradt (Helixel).
