Check Out Diamond Select Toys at San Diego Comic-Con 2017!

Comic-Con International is a few days away, and the Diamond Select Toys team is about to get on a plane to sunny San Diego! But before they left, they wanted to let you know what to look for and what to do at SDCC 2017!

The team will be set up in their usual location (booth #2607) showing off a wide variety of upcoming products, including a number of world premieres! New Minimates and PVC dioramas from Thor: Ragnarok will be there, as well as new items from the DC Animated Universe, Star Trek and Nightmare Before Christmas!

DST will also offer con-exclusive products in their store, including several Vinimates vinyl figures, Marvel Gallery PVC dioramas, DC Animated Universe resin busts and statues, and even special-edition Marvel Comics! (See here for a complete list). Plus, fans can qualify for a free gift – each purchase of $25 earns them a free DST fidget spinner, with a different style available each day!

After that, head over to the Toys”R”Us/Entertainment Earth booth, #2343, to pick up the exclusive Marvel Minimates Spider-Man Homecoming 2-Pack, with a raised-mask Spider-Man (with food accessories) and a civilian-clothes Adrian Toomes (the Vulture)! The set will also be available on the Toysrus.com website once the show starts Thursday.

If it’s information you seek, then DST will host two separate panels at the show! “Diamond Select Toys: Minimates” will celebrate 15 years of Minimates mini-figures, at 10:30 on Saturday, in Room 8. It will feature a presentation on all upcoming Minimates and Vinimates, as well as a Q&A with President Chuck Terceira, Marketing Supervisor Zach Oat and prototype painter Brian Felgar. The best questions will win DST swag!

A second panel, “Diamond Select Toys: Select Figures & More,” will celebrate 15 years of the Select figure line at 3:00 on Sunday in Room 24ABC. It will cover action figures, Gallery PVC dioramas, resin busts and statues and all other DST products, and end on a Q&A with sculptor Jean St. Jean, prototype painter Jason Wires and Gentle Giant’s Adam Van Wickler. Again, the best questions will win DST prizes!

Diamond Select Reveals Marvel Animated Minimates Series 5; Series 4 Now Available at Walgreens

Diamond Select Toys recently released Series 4 of its Marvel Animated Minimates collection, the latest assortment in an exclusive mini-figure line only available at Walgreens stores. Now they’re ready to unveil the next assortment in the line! This upcoming fifth series of figures features all-new two-packs from Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers Assemble, including new variations on your favorite Super Heroes and Super Villains, as well as two never-before-made characters!

Series 5 will hit on July 1, 2017, and will include four different two-packs, each containing two 2-inch Minimates mini-figures. The assortment includes:

  • From Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Girl faces off with Hulk Carnage! May “Mayday” Parker is the daughter of Peter Parker from an alternate Earth, while a Carnage-possessed Hulk ravaged New York City in “The Symbiote Saga.” Spider-Girl includes a webline accessory.
  • Also from Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel battles Kang the Conqueror! Teenage Inhuman superheroine Kamala Khan comes with an interchangeable stretching arm and giant hand to challenge the master of time himself! This is the first Marvel Minimate of the new Ms. Marvel!
  • From Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, Iron Man’s Mark II armor goes up against Proxima Midnight, a super-strong lieutenant of Thanos. Iron Man features a removable helmet and flight stand, while Proxima comes with her spear. This is the first Marvel Minimate of Proxima Midnight!
  • Also from Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, Bruce Banner puts on his very own Hulkbuster Armor to take on the gamma-irradiated genius The Leader! The Hulkbuster Armor is removable, and Bruce includes alternate parts so you can display him in his Stark Industries T-shirt!

Each 2-inch Minimates mini-figure features fully interchangeable parts, so you can trade accessories and create custom looks. Minimates also feature a standard 14 points of articulation, to strike a variety of poses, and each Minimate comes with a clear disc base that pegs into the character’s foot to support dynamic poses.

Diamond Select Toys Celebrates Two Anniversaries at Chicago’s C2E2

They call Chicago “Second City,” but it’s always first in the hearts of Diamond Select Toys, as they head back to Chi-town on April 21-23 for C2E2, the Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo! Celebrating 15 years of Minimates mini-figures and Select action figures, DST will be setting up a booth at the show to show off their latest prototypes and sell some of their most popular collectibles, as well as hosting a panel where they’ll show off even more upcoming items and give away some sweet prizes!

Booth #817 will be your first stop, as new prototypes from Marvel, DC, Justice League, Gotham, Pirates of the Caribbean, Dark Tower, Alien: Covenant, Predator, Pulp Fiction and more will be on display, including some never-before-exhibited items! The DST store will also be open for business, with Select action figures, Gallery PVCs, Minimates mini-figures, vinyl banks and more waiting to fill holes in your collection. Plus, pick up exclusive free postcards featuring Marvel Minimates artwork!

Friday night will also be the time to come to the Diamond Select Toys panel! Titled “Diamond Select Toys: 15 Years of Minimates and Select Figures,” the panel will take place on Friday, April 21, from 6:45 PM to 7:45 PM in Room S402. Marketing Supervisor Zach Oat will be there to talk about upcoming products, answer questions and give away prizes to randomly drawn attendees.
