DC has revealed Wonder Woman’s “Year of Wonder” with Louise Simonson, Cian Tormey, Stephanie Williams, Elena Casagrande, and more

Since her debut in All-Star Comics #8 in 1941, Wonder Woman has stood as a champion of truth, compassion, and equality throughout the DC Universe and beyond. Princess Diana of Themyscira has lived many lives, but her commitment to peace and justice has never wavered. On the anniversary of the Amazon Princess’s historic DC debut, DC looks toward her extraordinary future by declaring 2027 the Year of Wonder, an unforgettable year of stories from celebrated comic book creators.

Legendary writer Louise Simonson writes DC’s main Wonder Woman series for the first time beginning with Wonder Woman #41 on January 20, joining acclaimed artist Cian Tormey for a new four-issue story that establishes a bold new status quo for Diana and her world. 

In Simonson and Tormey’s story, Wonder Woman is determined to abolish the Amazon Safety Act and clear the way for her sisters to return to the shores of Man’s World. But after everything they have endured, are the Amazons ready to return, or have they given up on saving humanity from itself?

Following Simonson and Tormey’s four-issue story, writer Stephanie Williams and artist Elena Casagrande take the reins for an all-new six-issue arc continuing the Year of Wonder through October 2027.

Williams returns to Diana’s world after contributing four issues to DC’s Wonder Woman series in 2026 and co-writing Wonder Woman 2026 Annual: Wonder War – The Matriarch Special #1. She currently writes the DC GO! webcomic series Warriors and a Wee Wonder, which will soon transition to Warriors and a ’Tween Wonder. Together with Casagrande on DC’s main Wonder Woman series, Williams will carry Wonder Woman into the next chapter of a year designed to celebrate the character’s enduring power, limitless potential, and place at the heart of the DC Universe.

More Wonder Woman stories and superstar creators will be revealed as DC’s Year of Wonder continues throughout 2027.

Wonder Woman #41, written by Louise Simonson with art by Cian Tormey, features a main cover by Ryan Sook and variant covers by Daniel Sampere, Walter Simonson, and Tormey. The issue also features a foil variant cover by David Nakayama and a Sweater Weather variant cover by Alexander Lozano. The 32-page issue arrives at participating comic book shops and digital retailers on January 20, 2027, for $4.99 US, with card stock variants available for $5.99 US.

CELEBRATE WONDER WOMAN WITH DC

Readers can celebrate Wonder Woman’s anniversary with a special selection of stories available through DC Universe Infinite. The Get to Know! Wonder Woman collection brings together defining adventures from across Diana’s remarkable history, with six comics available for fans to read for free on DC’s digital comics platform: Wonder Woman #1 (2023) by Tom King and Daniel Sampere, Wonder Woman #2 (2016) by Greg Rucka and Nicola Scott, Wonder Woman #226 (2006) by Greg Rucka and Cliff Richards, Wonder Woman: Steve Trevor Special #1 (2017) by Tim Seeley and Christian Duce, Wonder Woman #170 (2001) by Joe Kelly and Phil Jimenez, and Wonder Woman #51 (2018) by Steve Orlando and Laura Braga.

CITY OF BURBANK HONORS WONDER WOMAN

For fans in Burbank, the Wonder Woman celebration extends beyond the page. Fans can visit the larger-than-life bronze Wonder Woman statue located in front of the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood entrance at 3400 Warner Blvd. The statue, inspired by original artwork from acclaimed Wonder Woman artist Jenny Frison, offers fans a chance to celebrate the Amazon Princess and capture a photo with an iconic tribute to her enduring legacy. 

Visit Burbank will also celebrate Wonder Woman on October 21 with a special comic book giveaway. Five fans will have the chance to win a commemorative Wonder Woman comic book, written by Amanda Deibert with art by Aaron Lopresti. Fans can enter by following @visitburbank and @dccomics and sharing a photo with the Wonder Woman statue. Get a first look at Elita Prime’s Fight for Cybertron in Transformers #37

Skybound, Image Comics, and Hasbro have shared a first look at Transformers #37 from the creative team of writer Robert Kirkman, guest artist Karl Kerschl, colorist Mike Spicer, and letterer Rus Wooton. The new story arc begins with a standalone Elita Prime story in Transformers #37, available in comic book shops on October 14, 2026.

In addition to the main cover by artist Jason Howard, the lineup of variant covers for Transformers #37 includes an open-to-order cover B by Daniel Warren Johnson and Mike Spicer, an open-to-order cover C by David Nakayama, a 1:25 incentive variant by Nick Bradshaw and Jim Charalampidis, a 1:50 incentive variant by Ethan Young, a specialty finish cover by David Lafuente, and a blank sketch cover.

Tom King and Daniel Sampere’s run on Wonder Woman ends this December with Wonder Woman #40

Over forty issues, Tom King and Daniel Sampere transformed Wonder Woman‘s world, introduced Trinity and the Sovereign to the DC Universe, redefined Diana as an outlaw, a rebel, a mother, a revolutionary, a warrior, and a legend, and delivered one of the most talked-about Wonder Woman runs in modern comics history. Now it all concludes with a grand finale in Wonder Woman #40 coming to shops December 16, 2026.

The Matriarch and her father, the Sovereign, have gathered a group of violent villains to destroy Wonder Woman and all that she represents. First launched in September 2023, Tom King and Daniel Sampere’s Wonder Woman will conclude with six collected editions, dozens of new characters and storylines, and one of the longest creative runs on the title in recent years.

Disney’s Robin Hood Leaps Into Comics!

That infamous bandit champion of Sherwood Forest is back, to rob from the rich, and give to the poor! The beloved Disney interpretation of Robin Hood is leaping into his first comic book series in over 50 years, and superstars of the Dynamite era of Disney comics adventures are teaming up to tell this spectacular saga, with scripting by Eisner-nominated writer Nate Cosby, plotting by Cosby and legendary Gargoyles creator Greg Weisman, and awe-inspiring illustrations by Alessandro Ranaldi. Fans can tune into these all-new, totally true tales starting this November!

There’ve been a heap of legends and tall tales of the mysterious Robin Hood. All different, too. The folks of the animal kingdom have their own version, and readers will get to learn the story of what really happened in Sherwood Forest. This new comic series from Cosby, Weisman and Ranaldi reveals the never-before-told-but-totally-true stories of history’s most famous archer.

Each issue of Robin Hood will shine the spotlight on different characters, telling an interconnected story that focuses on Robin, Maid Marian, Prince John, Friar Tuck, Lady Kluck, Alan-A-Dale, and more of everybody’s favorites!

It all kicks off when Robin Hood gets in a heap of trouble by breaking into Prince John’s castle every single day for a week straight. The only problem is, it takes a while to figure out exactly what he’s been stealing. But when Prince John finds out what’s missing, the hunt is on and it’s going to take all of Robin Hood’s skills and heroics to make it out in this uproarious adventure,

Across the pantheon of Disney classics, Robin Hood has surprisingly been one of the least prolific in comic books. Over 50 years ago was the last major American tales of the people’s hero, and even across the globe the character’s four-color fables have been limited. Dynamite and the creative team are excited to bring this hero to this perfect medium to chronicle his brushes with the law and ultimate feats.

Disney’s vision of Robin Hood originally hit theaters in 1973, and has wowed generations since. Transforming the canonized 12th century English legend into an anthropomorphic adventure epic added a new twist to beloved characters including Maid Marian, Little John, Friar Tuck, the Sheriff of Nottingham, and many more. Readers will get to see artist Alessandro Ranaldi’s gorgeous interpretation of these classic characters in the new comic series.

To mark this historic splash in comics for Robin Hood, editor and writer Nate Cosby has assembled a squad of superstars for gorgeous covers. Joshua Middleton and David Nakayama return to contribute even more instant classic visions of Disney icons. They’re joined by two legends of comic book archers, David Aja and Phil Hester. Nathan Szerdy rounds out the initial cast, plus some exciting surprises that collectors can check out via the mystery blind bag!

Miracleman joins Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto’s Avengers #1

Earlier this week, a legendary comic book super hero was reborn in the Marvel Universe: MIRACLEMAN! David Colton, the former Captain America introduced in Chip Zdarsky’s Captain America run, inherited Miracleman’s legacy and extraordinary power amidst the team’s epic showdown with Red Hulk in Avengers: Armageddon #4. When the dust settles from this cataclysmic battle, a new era for Marvel’s heroes begins and Miracleman will be at the center of it as the final member of a bold new Avengers lineup debuting in Avengers #1 by Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto, on sale November 4. Today, fans can check out the final main cover for Avengers #1, now featuring Miracleman alongside the team, plus a slew of previously classified variant covers spotlighting the iconic character.

The newly revealed covers include True Believers Blind Bag Exclusive Covers, including a brand-new piece by definitive Miracleman artist Alan Davis.
