Kaiju No. 8 B-Side Vol. 2 features two stories shining a greater light on the series’ characters

A spin-off of the smash hit Kaiju No. 8, this manga takes a deeper look at some of the series’ most beloved characters. See Hoshina, Shinomiya, and others in the past as they struggle to find themselves through battle with deadly kaiju!

In this second of two volumes, a young Shinomiya finishes her battle with a killer crustacean-type kaiju in a training exercise full of surprises. Then the action focuses on Narumi’s past. He’s got all the potential in the world but an attitude destined to squander it! Can Vice-Captain Itami straighten him out?

The year is 1998. The prophesied “end of the world” is nipping at the planet’s heels along with the cold winds of winter. Kaiju No. 8 Vol. 13 is packed with action and sets up the confrontation we’ve been waiting for

With the highest kaiju-emergence rates in the world, Japan is no stranger to attack by deadly monsters. Enter the Japan Defense Force, a military organization tasked with the neutralization of kaiju. Kafka Hibino, a kaiju-corpse cleanup man, has always dreamed of joining the force. But when he gets another shot at achieving his childhood dream, he undergoes an unexpected transformation. How can he fight kaiju now that he’s become one himself?!

Mina Ashiro falls into the clutches of Kaiju No. 9 after its emergence in Tachikawa. Kafka goes to rescue her, but daikaiju start emerging in several places across the city, impeding his progress. The situation becomes even more complicated when he picks up on a new kaiju presence and a never-before-seen entity reveals itself!

A spin-off of the smash hit Kaiju No. 8, this manga takes a deeper look at some of the series’ most beloved characters. See Hoshina, Shinomiya, and others in the past as they struggle to find themselves through battle with deadly kaiju!

In this first of two volumes, Hoshina’s backstory comes to light. The harsh words of his father could have hobbled Hoshina for life, but Hoshina’s not your average kaiju fighter. Armed with his signature swords, he shakes free of the doubts of the past, determined to take down kaiju and make a name for himself!

Kaiju No. 8 Vol. 12 is packed with some awesome action and tense moments

The Eastern Division has been attacked by identified-class kaiju. Narumi and Kikoru have taken care of their targets, but Hoshina is still facing off against No. 12, the finished project that No. 10 served as the prototype for. Even worse, Numbers Weapon 10 won’t output more than 83 percent unleashed combat power, making this battle even more of a struggle for Hoshina!
