Kafka Hibino, a kaiju-corpse cleanup man, has always dreamed of joining the force. But when he gets another shot at achieving his childhood dream, he undergoes an unexpected transformation. How can he fight kaiju now that he’s become one himself?!

With his childhood dream in his heart, Kafka makes his choice—to give up his human form for the sake of humanity. He transforms for the final time into Kaiju No. 8 and takes his last stand against the historic cataclysm—the Daikaiju of the Meireki Era! Half is More Vol. 1 is an amazing manga exploring racism in Japan

Side-eyes. Confusion. Whispers. Giggles.

Being a mixed-race Japanese person isn’t easy, and that’s especially true for Kazumi Mandanda Yoneyama and her brother. Despite being born and raised in the Land of the Rising Sun and having a Japanese mother, the siblings, who share a Black French father, are treated as outsiders. But knowing they have as much right to belong as anyone else, they and their mixed-race friends search for ways to cope and find wholeness in their half-Japanese identities.

In a country as homogeneous as Japan, Kazumi and others like her must continue to put one foot in front of the other and contend with feelings of otherness every day. As they navigate this road rife with trials and pitfalls—microaggressions, misunderstandings, social transgressions, and racism—it becomes clear that self-acceptance isn’t simple.

This is a story of hope and the search for coexistence, dedicated to all those struggling with their identity.

The Marshal King, Vol. 1 is a pretty good start but some lettering issues dampens the enjoyment

Hitsujiya’s life is forever changed when his high school friend Kokudo reveals the secret of “hacks.” By following specific instructions found in a mysterious notebook, he can alter reality itself!

Kokudo and Hitsujiya experiment with the hacks and learn more about their strange nature. It’s all fun and games at first. But when Kokudo uses a hack to go back in time, things take a dark turn. Like the first volume, Kaiju No. 8 Relax Vol. 2 has its moments but overall is for diehard fans

Fulfilling his childhood promise, Kafka moves to neutralize Kaiju No. 9 by Mina Ashiro’s side. Amid an extreme back-and-forth battle, No. 8’s berserk mode cracks No. 9’s shield and pierces the core, but it turns out that’s not the source of No. 9’s power!
