Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, Armor Wars, and more details from D23

At San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios dropped a lot of their plans for the future announcing film and television projects. Now, at D23, the movie studio has expanded things with even more.

The trailers for Secret Invasion and Werewolf By Night were revealed but there was far more news to come out of the Disney focused event.

Armor Wars, which was not mentioned at SDCC leading to rumors got some focus as the series was announced (again) with Don Cheadle returning as James “Rhodey” Rhodes, aka War Marchine. The series will stream on Disney+.

Matt Shakman was formally announced as the director of Fantastic Four. Shakman had directed WandaVision and has also directed numerous episodes of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Good Wife, You’re the Worst, and more. Shows relevant to the Fantastic Four include Heroes Reborn, Chuck, The Boys, and Succession. Shakman was attached to the upcoming Star Trek film.

Carl Lumby, Danny Ramirez, and Tim Blake Nelson, will all return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The trio will reprise their roles as Isaiah Bradley, Joaquin Torres, and Dr. Samuel Sterns in Captain America: New World Order.

The cast of Thunderbolts has been revealed! The film will feature David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, ​​Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S.Agent, with Florence Pugh reprising her role as Yelena Belova.

Loki Season 2 gets a new cast member in Ke Huy Quan. They’ll join the returning cast of Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Owen Wilson as Agent Mobius, and Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie.

These limited, free to attend signings will take place on Saturday September 10th and Sunday September 11th for badged attendees to D23 Expo.

Illustrious comic book creator and author Rob Liefeld, best known for creating Marvel’s Deadpool, Cable and X-Force will appear at the Boxlunch booth #2221 on Saturday September 10th from 2pm to 3:30pm to sign an exclusive print only available at this. Drag Icon Nina West, Miss Congeniality from Season 11 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, is headlining the US National Tour of Hairspray as Edna Turnblad and can be seen at D23 Expo as the Host of the D23 Mousequerade as well as the D23 Trivia show. Nina will be signing exclusive prints of the cover of her first children’s book The You Kind of Kind at the Boxlunch booth #2221 from 12:30pm to 2pm on Sunday September 11th. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Gets a Special Look

At D23, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker got a special video honoring the past eight films while looking towards the ninth.

The film features new images and scenes that have people buzzing.

Rey wielding a red double lightsaber!? C-3PO sporting red eyes!? All of those Star Destroyers!?

Watch the teaser video and get speculating as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is out December 20.

Black Widow Gets a Poster and WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Get Art

D23 gave us some artistical looks at upcoming films and television shows from Marvel Studios. Black Widow got a movie poster and WandaVision some key art, both by Andy Park. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier as well got some art.

The Black Widow poster is the first look at the design of Red Guardian who will be played by David Harbour.

All three posters have hints as to what we’ll see in the upcoming film and television shows. Get to decyphering!

Marvel, Pandora, and SiriusXM Celebrate Marvel’s Birthday with Marvel’s 80th: The Road to Marvel Comics #1000

During Marvel’s 80th anniversary panel at D23 Expo 2019, Marvel, SiriusXM, and Pandora announced plans to launch an all-new exclusive music station and limited-time channel: Marvel’s 80th: The Road to Marvel Comics #1000 to celebrate 80 years of Marvel. The Pandora station and limited-time SiriusXM channel 4, and SiriusXM On Demand, starting Thursday, August 29.

Released just two days before Marvel’s birthday, Marvel’s 80th: The Road to Marvel Comics #1000 will take listeners on a journey through eight decades of music, pop culture, and the Marvel Universe, starting in 1939, the historic year that featured the debut of the Human Torch and marked the birth of the sprawling Marvel Universe that fans know today.

Host Mike Rubens, known for his comedic work with Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, will guide listeners year to year with lively commentary tying each song to some of the most defining events in the Marvel Universe – along with the real-life history that happened right outside our windows.

The celebratory music programming, specially curated by Marvel with Pandora, and SiriusXM, features some of the most iconic songs through the ages, including classics from Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley; era-defining songs from The Rolling Stones, Duran Duran, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Madonna, and Prince; and explosive chart-topping hits from Eminem, Kanye West, The Weeknd, and more from the most popular music artists across generations.

Marvel Comics #1000 goes on sale August 28 at comic shops everywhere.
