Disney Publishing Unveils Disney Cursed Love, an All-New Romantasy Series, Debuting Exclusively on WEBTOON in 2027

At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event 2026, Disney Publishing announced Disney Cursed Love, an all-new romantasy initiative inspired by some of Disney’s most iconic love stories. Disney Cursed Love will engage readers through seductive, action-packed romantasy adventure, entangled in dark magic, terrible curses, and epic romance.

The initiative will debut with ‘The Curse of a Forsaken Heart’ from #1 NYT Best-Selling author Emily McIntire and artist Samairu — available first on WEBTOON as a webcomic before expanding into print across multiple formats in 2027. 

In The Curse of a Forsaken Heart, Belle and the Beast (in its human form) get sucked into a magical world through an enchanted stained-glass window. Once trapped, they quickly realize the fate of the realm is tied to the kingdom’s princess, Emberlynne: a woman who didn’t yield to the marriage proposal of an evil sorcerer. As a result of her refusal, the entire kingdom is cursed to live without love and anyone who steps foot inside it is also cursed. Belle and the Beast will have to not only find their way back to their own love, but also help the princess find hers in order to lift the curse from the kingdom and return home.

Fans can also look forward to new titles joining over 20 existing reformatted series on WEBTOON—all of which are available in the dedicated Disney section of the English-language WEBTOON app:

Marvel Studios introduces its X-Men

During D23, Marvel Studios revealed the line up for its X-Men film which will arrive in theaters May 5, 2028. The date is interesting as Marvel has staked out the first weekend in May, having released numerous films during that weekend. It also aligns with Free Comic Book Day.

The X-Men cast includes:

  • Sadie Sink is Jean Grey
  • Kit Connor is Cyclops
  • Christopher Abbott is Professor Charles Xavier
  • Samara Weaving is Emma Frost
  • Inde Navarrette is Rogue
  • Maya Boyd is Storm
  • Adam Driver is Nathaniel Milbury

It looks like the X-Men will finally be taking on Mr. Sinister! Jake Schreier will direct the film and more casting will be announced!

Marvel Television’s VisionQuest gets its First Trailer

A first look at Marvel Television‘s VisionQuest was revealed at D23.

VisionQuest concludes the epic trilogy that began with 2021’s groundbreaking, award-winning WandaVision and 2024’s acclaimed Agatha All Along. Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponize him, has been in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the infamous Ultron. His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son, reincarnate. As Vision evades capture, he must confront his nature, resist Ultron’s influence, and unravel the enigma that is his young companion if he’s to survive.

VisionQuest stars Paul Bettany, James Spader, Ruaridh Mollica, Todd Stashwick, T’Nia Miller, Lauren Morais, Orla Brady, Diane Morgan, Polly Frame, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, with Emily Hampshire, and James D’Arcy. The series is directed by Christopher J. Byrne, Gandja Monteiro, Vincenzo Natali, Terry Matalas, and written by Terry Matalas, Cindy Appel, Christopher Monfette, Nicole Falsetti, and Matthew Okumura.

VisionQuest is created for television by Terry Matalas, based on the Marvel Comics. The executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Mary Livanos, Terry Matalas, Jac Schaeffer, and Christopher J. Byrne, and the producer is Roopesh Parekh.

BoxLunch Unveils its Exclusive Merch Lineup for Disney’s D23 2024

BoxLunch, the fandom-first retailer, has unveiled its all-new booth experience for D23 2024, taking place from August 9th to August 11th. Featuring an elegant black and white theme, fans can expect exclusive merchandise from beloved Disney franchises, along with giveaways. 

As part of the booth, fans will be able to shop D23-exclusive apparel, accessories and jewelry from across a medley of Disney franchises fittingly matching BoxLunch’s black and white theme, including Star Wars, Marvel’s Venom, The Nightmare Before Christmas, 101 Dalmatians and more.

New to this year’s booth, BoxLunch will present attendees with prize-winning opportunities through its ‘BLINKO’ game station. Like the classic game, guests can win prizes by dropping chips onto a BoxLunch-themed game board.
