BlackBox joins Diamond’s FOC Program

Diamond Comic Distributors has announced that it has added BlackBox Comics to its Final Order Cutoff (FOC) Program beginning in March. The first title from BlackBox Comics to appear in the FOC Program will be Bio Mechs.

Written by Jay Sandlin and based on a story created by Sandlin and BlackBox publisher, Dimitrios ZaharakisBio Mechs features gorgeous art by Cleber Souza Lima and Fabio Da Silva Bandres with letters by Cynna Ael. After surviving for eons hidden away from the outside world, the peace on Mechis is shattered by the arrival of the insectoid Hive, who seek to enslave the Bio Mech inhabitants and conquer the planet. Described as Transformers meets Ultraman with a dash of Starship Troopers for good measure, this new series is well-timed to complement the current resurgence of Transformers and the growing appetite for a more traditional mech series. Issue 1 arrives in stores on April 24 with four exciting covers from some of Transformers’ finest.

FOC is an ordering program that provides retailer with extra time to adjust and finalize their product orders.

Tech-Savvy Mothers Take The Internet Hostage To Build A Better World! M.O.M. Breaks the Internet is Coming Soon from Jay Sandlin, Patrick Mulholland, and Scout

Barbie Reed is a brilliant computer programmer, wife, and mother. Her fifteen-year-old daughter, Penny Alonzo-Reed, is an activist organizing free speech protests. The same day Barbie’s company lays her off, Penny is arrested and inappropriately touched by a policeman at a demonstration in front of the Capitol. With Penny facing assault charges, Barbie assembles her fellow moms to create real change by putting the Internet in a permanent time-out by reprogramming games to be educational, disabling trolls, and blocking bullies from spreading hate. Acting under the online persona of MOM, she and the others break the Internet!

If President Waldgrave and his cronies want it back in time for the election, they’ll have to complete her list of honey-dos to create a better world. While MOM wants to keep people safe, she must avoid anti-hacker Agent Ramirez, who is tasked with bringing the tech-terrorist to justice. Can MOM restore sanity amidst all of the hatred and fear? Are her actions truly justice or is she endangering herself and her family for Internet vigilantism? And if Barbie gets caught… what happens to MOM and all the good that she’s done?

M.O.M. Breaks the Internet is written by Jay Sandlin, art by Patrick Mulholland, color by Adriano Augusto, lettering by Cynna Ael, edited by Nicole D’Andria, and published by Scout Comics.
