The Hard Agree podcast team have announced their latest annual Charles Dickens’ Christmas Carol charity podcast, in support of ComicBooks for Kids!

A Hard Agree Christmas Carol is the December 2023 edition of Hard Agree’s annual yuletide charity podcast, featuring host Andrew Sumner and an all-star line-up from comics, movies, TV & theatre performing Charles Dickens’ live recitation of A Christmas Carol in support of ComicBooks for Kids.

Joining Sumner on the podcast are comic book legend Dave Gibbons (Watchmen, Kingsman, The Originals); renowned fantasy author Michael Moorcock; author, actor & MCU star Evangeline Lilly (Lost, The Hobbit, Ant-Man and The Wasp); BBC presenter & wine expert Olly Smith (BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, Olly Smith’s Home Cocktail Bible); West End theatre star Julie Stark (Chess, Les Misérables, We Will Rock You, Sister Act); comics editor &
cartoonist David Leach (Psycho Gran, David Leach Conquers the Universe), designer & comics artist Kelly Yates (Amber Atoms, MonstHer, Doctor Who) and Titan Comics marketing guru/ComicBooks for Kids UK director Will O’Mullane. The annual Hard Agree Yuletide Players cartoon was donated by Kelly Yates.

ComicBooks For Kids! will celebrate its first annual CB4K day

On 2/22/22, ComicBooks For Kids! will celebrate its first annual CB4K day. Over 40 retailers, e-tailers, influencers and creators will be conducting events to gather both product and income for the charity. That afternoon (at 2:22 Central time), the charity will announce its annual awards which have increased this year to reflect the growing number of individuals and organizations that regularly support this organization.  Moreover, the organization has promised one of its biggest announcements in its almost 5 year history.

However the charity has released a few awards early in recognition of those who have made a significant difference for ComicBooks For Kids! including the annual President’ awards presented to both Paizo and Funko, the Retailer of the Year award to Hooked on Comics in Pennsylvania, and the Publisher of the Year and Manga Publisher of the Year to Oni Lion Forge Group and TOKYOPOP respectively. This year a new award, Distributor of the Year reflecting the changing dynamics in the industry was presented to Lunar Distribution.
