KOSMOS, CATAN GmbH, and CATAN Studio have announced plans to release a new edition of Klaus Teuber’s award-winning, wildly popular board game, CATAN, in March 2025 to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the game’s first publication. Thames & Kosmos has unveiled the upcoming release of EXIT: The Game – Adventures on Catan, the newest addition to the award-winning EXIT: The Game line of at-home escape room games, set in the captivating world of CATAN. 

In EXIT: The Game – Adventures on Catan players set out to create a new life for themselves on the beautiful, resource-rich island of Catan. But numerous challenges and riddles await you on your exciting journey! In Adventures on Catan, there are nods to the beloved gameplay of CATAN, as players trade with residents to build out the island and discover more resources. Can you succeed in building a new life in a foreign land? 

The EXIT: The Game series debuted in North America in 2017 and the first three titles were awarded the internationally acclaimed Kennerspiel des Jahres (German for “Connoisseur/Expert Game of the Year”), marking the first time a series of games won the prestigious award. Since then, over 30 unique titles have been released in the US, with varying themes and options for all skill levels. Today, more than 25 million games have been sold worldwide as the series continues to attract gamers and non-gamers alike, with people of all backgrounds and interests hailing the puzzles in the EXIT series as some of the most innovative and engaging puzzles in any line of at-home escape room games.

Gen Con 2024: Get a first glimpse at Collector’s Dice from FanRoll CATAN

FanRoll debuts its highly anticipated CATAN collector’s dice and stone robbers at Gen Con 2024. The oversized D6s have CATAN resources inside the die and a high-end hex-shaped case. FanRoll is also introducing a line of stone robbers sold with red and yellow metallic dice that feature CATAN hexes on the pips.

The line includes an Inclusion Dice Set featuring the resources of CATAN captured in stunning detail in an oversized die. The line will also have Robbers & Metal Dice, containing four Gemstone robbers.

FanRoll will be at booth numbers 643, 1543, and 2600 at Gen Con, August 1 – 4 at the Indianapolis Convention Center.

Mayfair Announces Catan Traveler for Summer 2015

The space-saving box unfolds to reveal the variable board. Roads, settlements and cities are safe in their locking drawers. Cards are held securely in holder trays. Even the dice, thanks to the practical hex-shaped shaker cannot get dropped and lost.

Catan compact is handy, fits easily into your luggage and contains all of the components and fun the “big” Catan.

The downside? Catan: Traveler is not compatible with any of the Expansions or Extensions in the Catan line of products.

Catan: Traveler – Compact Edition will retail for $45 and is meant for 2-4 players.

The game contents include:

  • 1 folding tough plastic box

Kicking off the 20th anniversary of Catan with the Catan Rickshaw Run

mayfair-games-logo2015 is the 20th anniversary of Klaus Teuber’s masterpiece: Catan! Mayfair Games, Kosmos Verlag and Catan GmbH have a lot of amazing worldwide activities planned for this historic year and their first offering is the Catan Rickshaw Run!

Join Mayfair Games, Kosmos Verlag and Catan GmbH for the Catan Rickshaw Run! The worldwide festivities kick off April 6 in Jaisalmer, India where a 10-person Catan Team will set out on an epic 2700 km (1677 mile) trek across beautiful and historic northern India. Traveling in four motorized rickshaws, each representing one of the classic Catan player colors, the team will drive for two weeks through Jaipur, Agra, Kanpur, Varanasi, Patna, Siliguri and Guwahati en route to its destination in distant Shillong.

The Catan Team will include four members from Mayfair Games, two from Kosmos Verlag of Stuttgart, Germany and four members from Catan GmbH of Rossdorf, Germany. An international crew, the team is composed of four Americans, five Germans and one French citizen.

And the best part of all- it’s all in support of two great causes: Childaid Network and Cool Earth!
