Last Call to Leave Earth

(W/A) Cassio Ribeiro

When a mysterious photo changes their lives, three former friends, a haunted photographer, a fame-obsessed UFO enthusiast, and a devoted cult member, reunite to uncover the truth lurking in their small town.

Rita, Carlos, and Lucas were merely friends until a pivotal moment changed everything: they photographed what many in the small town of Caminho da Anta believed to be an alien. Years later, Rita, now thriving as a professional photographer, returns to discover the truth behind that fateful day and its effects on their lives and the community. A troubled photographer, a fame-seeking UFO enthusiast, and a loyal cult member are all in pursuit of answers, but what they find could be more extraordinary than they ever anticipated.

Navigating With You gets a Spanish Edition

Amor, amistad y manga—ahora en español…

Maverick has announced the Spanish-language release of Navigating With You Vol. 1 (Navegando Contingo), bringing one of its most celebrated and heartfelt graphic novels to an even broader community of readers. Following a year of major acclaim—including a Stonewall Honor from the American Library Association and nominations for both the Harveys and Ringos—Navigating With You continues its journey with a new edition honoring the cultural roots woven into its story!

Created by writer Jeremy Whitley and Brazilian comic creator and illustrator Cassio Ribeiro, and translated by Mercedes Guhl, this edition invites Spanish-speaking readers into the tender, hopeful world of Neesha and Gabby—two teens discovering connection, courage, and their shared love of manga.

Neesha Sparks is a disabled, vocal community activist with a passion for costume design. Gabby Graciana is an optimistic surfer – and, like Neesha, a new kid at school. When the two girls discover that they like the same manga series, Navigator Nozomi, they become more than just fellow new kids. But it was more than just having read the same book series–neither of them had finished it! Soon, they become new friends on a mission – to track down the remaining Navigator Nozomi books. This slice-of-life romance follows the two girls as they adventure across North Carolina to find each book, with their story intercut with the tales of Navigator Nozomi. Neesha and Gabby find more than just the books though – they find acceptance, friendship, understanding, and love.
