When Batman goes missing, it will take the entire Bat “family” – including new additions Batwoman and Batwing – to keep the peace in Gotham City and unravel the mystery behind the Dark Knight’s disappearance.
Batman: Bad Blood is the latest animated film in Warner Bros.’ series of movies and this one brings together the full Bat Family and then some. Batwoman, Nightwing, Robin, Batwing, they’re all here dealing with the missing Bruce Wayne/Batman.
The story as far as I know is original, though there’s some elements from some comic stories that stick out. What really stands out, beside the solid animation and action, is that each member of the Bat Family has their own personality and style that really makes them unique. Their delivery of lines, the way they fight, their general attitude, it’s all really unique, and each character is given more than enough time on their own to shine.
While Batwing comes in later and is a little underused, there’s a lot of history given to the character. Nightwing has the smart ass remarks, though he matures a bit as the movie progresses. Who really shines is Kate Kane/Batwoman who is really at the center of the film. She’s given a lot of personal time, fleshing out her personal life, and that includes dating.
What really comes out of Batman: Bad Blood is my want of a Batwoman animated feature.
The movie is really good and entertaining with some twists and turns that are fun, not predictable, just really solid animation. Out of all of the DC Comics animated films so far, this one stands out as my favorite so far.

The mysterious disappearance of Batman, coupled with the emergence of powerful and malevolent new villains in Gotham City, force Nightwing (voice of Sean Maher) and Robin (Stuart Allan) to take crime-fighting into their own hands – while simultaneously searching for their missing leader. They’re not alone for long. New super heroes Batwoman (Yvonne Strahovski) and Batwing (Gaius Charles) – each armed with her/his own sensibilities, physical abilities and crime-fighting tools – arrive in Gotham to assist in the cause. As this new “family” strives to find its own dynamic, chilling clues lead the group to suspect the Dark Knight may have gone over to the dark side. It’s up to the entire Bat team to uncover the truth before Gotham City falls prey to its greatest threat yet.
