The limited-edition Batman (XE Suit Hellbat Version) 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure by Hot Toys sports a newly developed helmeted head inspired by the Hellbat design. Standing approximately 13 inches (33 cm) tall, Batman wears a heavily armored, battle-worn version of the XE Suit enhanced with Hellbat aesthetics, including an electroplated red Bat-Symbol and red accents with a special UV luminous reflective effect. The suit is completed with a red utility belt and a black cape with embedded wire for dynamic posing options. 

The figure comes with a variety of interchangeable hands, including fists, Batarang-holding hands, opened gesture hands, and a telecommunication signal listening gesture hand. Weapons include Batman’s grapnel gun and two Batarangs, all presented on a specially designed figure stand.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is the first DC Compact Comics Clunker with Text that’s Unreadable

The Chase is Back with McFarlane Toys

In July, during McFarlane Con, McFarlane Toys teased a new chase program coming soon. The new chase program officially is called McFarlane Platinum Edition. McFarlane Toys has designed the new chase program to create a line of collectibles that will excite all collectors and become a valued part of your McFarlane Toys collection. 

The first figure to release from this program is the Arkham Asylum Joker Bronze Edition, and it will be hitting retailers in September 2020. The Arkham Asylum Joker Bronze Edition figure is limited in production – only 3,000 produced worldwide – and has been randomly packed into DC Multiverse cases shipping to retailers globally.

In 2021, all chase figures released in the McFarlane Platinum Edition program will be showcased in limited-edition packaging with a McFarlane Platinum Edition label printed in foil.

Every McFarlane Platinum Edition figure will be highly limited in quantity and feature a rare paint variation. It will extend across all of McFarlane Toys’ world-class and fan-favorite entertainment and pop culture brands to bring the “chase’ of collecting back to fans everywhere!

There will be several more rare chase figures releasing in 2020.

Mondo Releases More 80 Years of Batman Postsers

This Tuesday, Mondo has part two of remaining posters from their 80 Years of Batman gallery show. This week we’re shining the Bat signal on several truly quintessential pieces of Batman covers from the ’70s and ’80s including revelatory artwork by titans of the industry including Neal Adams, Jim Aparo, Frank Miller, Todd McFarlane, and Dave McKean.

Moving away from the lighter, more kid-friendly adventure comics of the ’50s and ’60s, BATMAN was returned to the more hardened “Dark Knight” vigilante we mostly associate his character with. This is largely due to the contributions from many of the artists mentioned above as well as writers Dennis O’Neil, Jim Starlin, Grant Morrison, and David Vern Reed. 

These are some of the best covers in all of Batman history and Mondo is proud to celebrate the art as big as possible as beautifully printed silkscreen posters.

DC Collectibles Expands to Walmart

DC Collectibles is bringing its acclaimed Batman: Black and White statue line to Walmart stores as 4″ mini-figures. The new figures are direct transformations of the company’s acclaimed 9″-scale figures and feature designs from many world-renowned artists including Jim Lee, Bruce Timm, Amanda Conner, Darwyn Cooke and many more.

Batman: Black and White is DC Collectibles’ longest-running statue line and one of their best-sellers.

But, there’s a twist…

The 4″ line of figures will be packaged in individual blind bags stocked next to DC Comic Giants. Each month a new wave of six figures will be released widening the selection and upping the surprise factor.

DC Expands Black Label with Classic Stories and New Printings

DC has announced that some of its most legendary stories will now be a part of the DC Black Label imprint. The recently launched publishing line, dedicated to giving premier writers and artists the ability to tell unique, standalone stories set outside DC continuity, will release several iconic comic book collections featuring the most famous DC heroes from the archives beginning this December through the end of 2019.

The quintessential tales that first inspired the creation of the line include complex and emotionally engaging narratives with stunning visual storytelling from some of the greatest creators in the industry. The list of reprinted collections and their release dates through 2019 can be found below:

Batman: Return to Arkham Comes Out October 18, 2016

Batman Return to Arkham_Logo_Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today announced that Batman: Return to Arkham will be available beginning October 18, 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The bundle includes remastered versions of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, as well as all of the Game of the Year edition bonus and downloadable content ever released.

The newly revealed Official Batman: Return to Arkham Side-by-Side trailer showcases the game’s improved graphics, upgraded models, environments, lighting, effects and shaders. Batman: Return to Arkham is being remastered by Virtuos using Unreal Engine 4, and will be available for a suggested retail price of $49.99/€49.9/£39.99.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is where it all began. Originally developed by Rocksteady Studios and released in 2009, the game pushed the envelope for action, adventure and super hero games and exposed players to a unique, dark and atmospheric adventure taking them to the depths of Arkham Asylum.  Featuring an original story, gamers can move in the shadows, instill fear amongst their enemies and confront The Joker and Gotham City’s most notorious villains, including Harley Quinn, Bane, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy and Scarecrow, who have taken over the asylum.

Batman: Arkham City is Rocksteady Studios’ 2011 follow-up to Batman: Arkham Asylum.  The game builds upon the intense, atmospheric foundation of Batman: Arkham Asylum, sending players soaring through the expansive Arkham City – the maximum security “home” for all of Gotham City’s thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds.  Featuring an incredible Rogues Gallery of Gotham City’s most dangerous criminals including Catwoman, The Joker, The Riddler, Two-Face, Harley Quinn, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze and many others, the game allows players to experience what it feels like to be The Dark Knight and deliver justice to those confined within Arkham City.

Batman: Return to Arkham is rated “T” for Teen by the ESRB.
