With a flash of lightning, the Thunderbolts have returned! Marvel has announced Thunderbolts #1 – the new ongoing seires from creators Jim Zub and Jon Malin! From the ashes of Avengers: Standoff, the Winter Soldier assembles the original Thunderbolts – Moonstone, the Fixer, MACH-V, Atlas and a mysterious new character for a dangerous new mission. One that will put them at the forefront and in the crosshairs of the Marvel Universe!

Writer Jim Zub speaking with Marvel.com said:

Doing the right thing is different than being good. We’ve assembled a potent mix of characters to explore with big drama, big action and unexpected twists along the way. Avengers: Standoff Launch Parties in March

Avengers: Standoff is coming. Marvel helping to make sure comic stores are armed and ready to uncover the truth behind Pleasant Hill when Avengers Standoff: Assault on Pleasant Hill Alpha #1 comes to retail stores in March! In addition to being among the first to purchase and read the first chapter of this epic crossover, fans will also be able to receive special items exclusive to these launch parties.

Each retailer opting in to the event by February 1st will receive an Avengers: Standoff party kit from Marvel, containing exclusive promotional materials.

It was really about trying to craft an event that was very ground-level, very character-driven, where everybody’s in close quarters in a locked-in space. It was a perfect setting for us in the scale we wanted to give and the direction and the feel of the event.
