Inspired by Shakespeare’s beloved romcom Much Ado About Nothing with a modern queer twist, Abuzz tells the story of teenage couples at Messina High falling in and out of love thanks to verbal spars, idle gossip, and jealous schemers.
Ben and Beatriz, former friends, can’t stop fighting on their way to senior graduation, threatening to tank college applications and years of hard work. Meanwhile, Hero and Claudio are new on campus, hoping to find their footing as new romance blossoms. Together with friends from the school clubs and sports teams, they have to find a way to get the feuding seniors to stop everyone from picking sides in their conflict before it tears the school apart.
Meanwhile, scorned juniors DJ, Connie, and Roach see the chaos as their perfect opportunity to completely topple the social pyramid and position themselves to rule the school. School Principal Leo is stuck between her duty as Hero’s parent and her duty as a leader to the buzzing student body while the bumbling academic counsellor Dogberry and her student assistant Vergil verbosely stumble their way through upholding the integrity and safety of the school halls.
There’s still time to get caught up in “the buzz” before Abuzz hits shelves this November from Maverick, the YA imprint of Mad Cave Studios!
Written by Amy Chase with art by Stelladia, colors by Ellie Wright, and lettering by Taylor Esposito, this spirited young-adult graphic novel reimagines Much Ado About Nothing through an inclusive, contemporary lens—where high-school drama and heart collide.
Shakespeare’s beloved romcom Much Ado About Nothing gets a modern update with an LGBTQ cast and the same classic miscommunications! Feuding senior students Ben and Beatriz drag half of Messina High into their never-ending arguments, making things difficult as budding sweethearts Hero and Claudio are asked to pick sides in the battle. All the while, the bad kids, led by outcast DJ, are plotting to capitalize on the chaos and rule the school for themselves. With college letters and prom night on the horizon, will these students find their happy ending or feel the sting of total rejection?
Abuzz drops into bookstores on November 18, 2025, and in comic shops on November 19, 2025.

Pop Tate, the small-town restaurateur of Archie Comics lore, has some sinister secrets that were revealed in a chilling Archie Horror one-shot anthology earlier this year. The not-so wholesome food-themed horror continues in Chilling Adventures Presents… Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe of Horrors: Fresh Meat, on-sale in March!
While the first Chock’lit Shoppe of Horrors comic revealed the nefarious goings on at the famous Riverdale diner after hours, Fresh Meat will explore how Pop and his dark establishment came to be in three new stories by the original creative team. The collection includes “Lord of the Fries” by Amy Chase and Federico Sabbatini, “Feed Me, Jughead” by Eisner nominee Jordan Morris and Liana Kangas, and “Free Market, Free Range” by Ryan Cady and Chris Panda.
As a new entry in the “Chilling Adventures” anthology series and a follow-up to a fan-favorite installment, Fresh Meat is a warm welcome for genre fans who may be new to the Archie Horror-verse and a second helping for longtime readers who wanted more after the first bite.
Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe of Horrors: Fresh Meat, with a cover by Adam Gorham, an open-to-order variant cover by Aaron Lea, colors by Ellie Wright and lettering by Jack Morelli, releases March 20 in comic shops.
