Act 4 Publishing and Skybound Share First Look at DC Silver Age Covers and Stories Artist’s Edition

Scott Dunbier’s Act 4 Publishing, in collaboration with Skybound, shared a first look at DC Silver Age Covers and Stories Artist’s Edition. This new Artist’s Edition gives readers a chance to experience the original artwork behind some of the most influential comics ever published, and features an introduction by comics writer and historian Mark Waid. This oversized hardcover collects artwork from DC’s Silver Age that helped redefine characters including Superman, The Flash, Green Lantern, and more, arriving in comic shops on November 4, 2026

Presented in a 15″ × 22″ hardcover format, this remarkable collection showcases original art from DC’s Silver Age, all drawn in the classic “twice-up” size. It features a complete set of interior pages from beloved comics like 1960’s Green Lantern #1 by Gil Kane, The Flash #146 by Carmine Infantino, Superman by Al Plastino from Action Comics #282, Sugar and Spike by Sheldon Mayer, and additional Silver Age treasures.  

DC Silver Age Covers and Stories Artist’s Edition also includes more than 60 classic covers showcasing legendary creators Joe Kubert, Carmine Infantino, Curt Swan, Nick Cardy, Murphy Anderson, and Gil Kane. Among the highlights are the cover to The Flash #123 featuring the first appearance of Earth-Two, the debut of the Silver Age Hawkman in The Brave and the Bold #34, the first appearance of Adam Strange on the cover of Showcase #17, and the unforgettable Flash vs. Superman race from Superman #199.  

Additional pages and splashes by Ross Andru, Ramona Fradon, Russ Heath, Jack Kirby, Jim Mooney, Mike Sekowsky, and Alex Toth further highlight the artistry of the Silver Age of comic book publishing. DC has announced José Luis García-López’s DC Classics Artist’s Edition, a prestige oversize hardcover presenting the original art of one of the most influential illustrators in DC’s history. Arriving March 23, 2027, this 240-page Artist’s Edition showcases García-López’s unparalleled draftsmanship at full size, scanned directly from the original pages.
