Marvel’s Warhammer 40,000: Marneus Calgar Comics are Getting Variant Covers for Games Workshop’s Warhammer Stores

Games Workshop and Marvel announced in September of 2019 that they would be partnering for a new line of comics based on GW’s properties. In June of 2020, the first comic was announced, Warhammer 40,000: Marneus Calgar which was released in October of 2020.

Games Workshop usually has some sort of tie-ins for this sort of partnership regarding their stores so it was rather odd that the game publisher was a bit silent about the new venture and haven’t sold the comics in their stores both physical and online.

Today GW announced that the comic will be coming to Warhammer shops with exclusive variant covers the first of which will be released very soon.

Check out the first cover below and we’ll have more as they’re revealed and announced.

IDW and Toho International Sign a Multi-Year Godzilla Publishing and Gaming Licensing Deal

Godzilla

IDW Publishing and Toho International, Inc. have announced a multi-year publishing program that will bring Godzilla and dozens of monsters from the Godzilla live-action films to a wide selection of publications and merchandise.

Beginning in spring 2021, Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, King Ghidorah, and dozens of kaiju will stomp their way across IDW’s line of comic books, graphic novels, trade collections, art books, coloring books, journals, tabletop games, and puzzles. Furthering IDW’s company-wide mission to expand the most beloved story worlds across all mediums, the publishing program — available in print and digitally — will represent a comprehensive range of content, delivering city-stomping entertainment to young readers and adult audiences.

IDW will have worldwide distribution for Toho’s Godzilla comic book, graphic novel, gaming, and merchandise program, with the exception of some parts of Asia.

IDW’s debut Godzilla project of 2021 will be a five-issue miniseries by writer Erik Burnham, artist Dan Schoening, and colorist Luis Antonio Delgado. The comic book will be aimed at middle-grade readers and hits stores with its first issue in April.

The new licensing deal builds upon IDW’s prior comic publishing relationship with Toho. In March 2011, IDW launched its Godzilla comic book program with Godzilla: King of the Monsters, generating huge fan and media interest and garnering support from the retailer community with 80 exclusive variant covers. Through 2016, IDW published 10 Godzilla comic book series of varying lengths, collected in a series of trade paperback collections.

Arcade1Up Launches the Infinity Game Table… with Digital Comics!?

Arcade1Up has launched a Kickstarter for the Infinity Game Table, the latest digital board game table.

Partnering with Hasbro, the digital board game table features over 50 games with more to come to start. You’ll also be able to download more. There’s no monthly subscription or hourly fee.

Games mentioned include Monopoly, Pandemic, Battleship, Trivial Pursuit, Ticket to Ride, Scrabble, and so much more. Having partnered with Hasbro, it’s many of their classics.

Beyond digital tabletop board games, Arcade1Up has also said the game table features thousands of comics, puzzles, and coloring books. It’s also mentioned a focus on partnering with indie creators as well.

Of course the mention of comics has interested us. In the promotional video, you can see a Comics Plus icon front and center indicating this is the initial platform you’ll be able to read digital comics on. It’s unknown if more digital services will come and we have reached out for more details.

The table can be used by 1 to 6 players and features wifi for ease of connection.

The Infinity Game Table has two main models, a 24″ and a 32″ screen. The 24″ version costs $499 at its basic level with the 32″ being $699. The project has crossed its goal of $50,000 and well on its way to $500,000. It ends on November 30 with a projected delivery of April 2021.
