Modiphius Announces New Terry Pratchett Discworld Games Coming in 2026

Discworld: Adventures in Ankh-Morpork

Publisher of tabletop RPGs, wargames, and board games, Modiphius Entertainment Ltd. has announced that it is developing new games for Terry Pratchett’s Discworld, set to be launched in 2026.

Most notably, Modiphius will be launching a new Discworld board game as a pre-order on Gamefound in Q1 of 2026 named Discworld: Readers DigestedReaders Digested will be a licensed edition of Blue Moon City, a game by Reiner Knizia, who is best known for his eurogame titles. Designed for 2-4 players, the game has been carefully reskinned with Discworld theming and features brand-new added expansion content.

Following a successful Kickstarter campaign for Discworld: Adventures in Ankh-Morpork which funded with over £2.4m, a retail edition of the core rulebook will be coming to stores in Q2 of 2026. Exclusive to friendly local gaming stores, this will be a digest-sized core rulebook as well as a starter set with an as-yet unpublished adventure for Adventures in Ankh-Morpork.

Modiphius is also planning to bring a Discworld card game to market in Q3 2026, titled Kill Sam Vimes. The card game drops your unlucky assassins into a contract to kill the titular character, as they try not to fall foul of deadly (and hilarious) traps and tricks imagined by the Duke of Ankh.

And that’s not all—coming in Q4 of 2026, building on the success of the first Kickstarter campaign, will be a second Discworld RPG campaign: Discworld: Adventures in Lancre and Uberwald, set to explore Lancre (including its Witches), Uberwald, and the Chalk.

For those looking to get their Discworld fix this year, Modiphius has partnered with AEG on Discworld Live – a TTRPG live show featuring High Rollers and Andy Farrant from Oxventure, at indigo at the O2 later this month. The cast will be playing The Hogswatch adventure, just in time for the festive season.

PAX Unplugged 2025: Board Game Veterans Reveal Song of the Wildkin, a Co-Op Dungeon Crawler for All Ages

Song of the Wildkin

Bōken Games has revealed Song of the Wildkin, an upcoming co-op dungeon-crawling adventure board game set in a rich fantasy world of anthropomorphic animals and nature-based channeling known as Pitchcraft. Song of the Wildkin emerges from the collective dreams of a board game veteran supergroup: a minimal setup, quick-to-table game with depth and complexity appealing to adults and children (9+) alike, packed with surprises and brought to life with hundreds of charming illustrations.

Enter a world inhabited by the Storied, anthropomorphic animals capable of Pitchcraft — an innate ability to shape wood through song, used for everything from elaborate table-setting to architecture. Talented practitioners even craft wordless woodbeasts that draw memories from the wood used in their creation.

Yet the winds whisper of woodbeasts growing hostile, and unexplained disappearances plague the realm. Among the vanished is the leader of the Seekers, heroes charged with solving the realm’s problems. Four Seekers-in-Training gather their gear and set off on a quest for answers.

Song of the Wildkin is a green legacy game with a 30-hour narrative-driven campaign full of adventure, player choice, 12 classes, and bosses that become playable characters. Assemble an adventuring party of four Seekers from a colorful cast of characters like Truval Fairhide, the valiant and just Guardian fox, and Jubleth Paleclaw, the water wizard hat-wearing Essence Tapper Axolotl. Lead the Seeker squad to defeat bosses like the Eightfold Empress in epic encounters, and then recruit them into your party!

Embark on a journey across richly detailed biomes inhabited by all manner of Storied. Complete scenarios requiring Seekers to cooperate as they explore 240 unique map cards and utilize more than 150 abilities. Designed for collaborative, accessible play that invites both new players and seasoned board game veterans, Song of the Wildkin’s dungeon-crawling and exploration evoke the essence of adventure with deep lore and themes, an evolving world, and minimal setup friction, keeping the focus on fun for all.

Featuring an all-star team of creators such as Andrew Bosley (Illustrator, Everdell), Paul DeStefano (Writer, Oathsworn), Ines Możdżyńska (Graphic Design, Kinfire Chronicles), Edgar Ramos (Sculptor, Stuffed Fables, Bloodborne), Ivan Alexiev (Developer, Rise of Babel), and more to be revealed soon, Song of the Wildkin combines a grounded fantasy setting with engaging gameplay focused on collaboration and intuitive mechanics.

Song of the Wildkin is currently in development with plans for a winter 2026 release.

NYCC 2025: Yen Press Announces Delicious in Dungeon Board Game

NYCC 2025: Dynamite launches the Army of Darkness Board Game on BackerKit

Army of Darkness: The Board Game

Dynamite Entertainment has been publishing Army of Darkness comic books for two decades, feeding hungry fans with further tales featuring Ash Williams and the entire extended mythos. The comics and collectibles publisher has gone one step further in developing an all-new, miniature-heavy board game based on the action-packed third act of the cult classic film, Army of Darkness: The Board Game. Every tabletop fan will enjoy playing as the iconic hero, Ash, or one of his allies, as they battle it out against a relentless army of the undead who will stop at nothing to control the Necronomicon.

The game is currently funding through BackerKit.

Evil Ash and his “bride,” Evil Sheila, are on a mission to extinguish all human life. Their Deadite army has Arthur’s castle under siege and players must work together to fight off the swarms of undead before, they too, become victims of the underworld.

This fast-paced, co-operative, “tower defense” game has 2-4 players commanding Arthur’s army of knights as they hold off Evil Ash, Evil Sheila, and their army of Deadites from getting their hands on the Necronomicon. Players strategically select action cards to formulate their attack and defense, but their luck will be tested as the battle evolves, unexpected twists happen in the turn of a card, and the best laid plans could be foiled. But additional help is at hand from the modern world… in the trunk of Ash’s car are various tools to assist players in getting the upper hand. And if the resources of the living world aren’t enough, dare to tap into the pages of the Necronomicon and cast a spell at your own risk. Any words uttered from the Necronomicon could either mean salvation for Ash and his friends, or damnation for the entire human race!

The first expansion for the game is already finished development and available optionally right alongside the full game launch, for fans wanting to upgrade their play experience right out the box. It unleashes the game to its next level, enabling five players at once, adding more miniatures, and more!

Army of Darkness: The Board Game has a playtime of 60-90 minutes and includes:

  • 22” x 22” folding game board
  • 44 character miniatures with the expansion!
  • 6 custom dice
  • 95 cards
  • 47 tokens
  • 4 character boards (5 with the expansion!)
  • 1 rulebook

Army of Darkness The Board Game is based on the iconic horror film from Sam Raimi starring Bruce Campbell. Designed by Lynnvander Studios. The first expansion is also available for preorder alongside the game. It is at the factory right now, with an expectation of completion and shipment to customers by February 2026.
