Hellboy Creator Mike Mignola Expands the Lands Unknown Universe with A New Graphic Novel, Uri Tupka and the Devils
This November, trailblazing cartoonist and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola will release his third original graphic novel in two years. Following the success of 2025’s Bram Stoker Award-nominated Bowling With Corpses and Other Strange Tales From Lands Unknown and this year’s Uri Tupka and the Gods, Mignola is expanding the Lands Unknown Universe he’s creating with cartoonist Ben Stenbeck with a new folktale anthology exploring the origins of legends of this strange new shared universe. Written and drawn by Mignola with colors from Dave Stewart and letters from Clem Robins, Uri Tupka and the Devils is due out in November from Dark Horse Comics.
Picking up after the events of Uri Tupka and the Gods, Uri Tupka and the Devils follows the weary hero on a new quest for the secret history of the universe. After his search for the ancient gods ended with some answers and even more questions, heretic and theologian Uri Tupka travels further to discover the truth about the darkness before the world began and what it means for mankind. He visits a Baron’s library full of esoteric books beyond even Uri’s imagination. Each night in the library brings new insight and clarity, but threatens to consume Uri as his unquenchable desire for understanding sends him down a dangerous path.
Uri Tupka and the Devils is a 104-page hardcover that will be released in bookstores and comic shops on November 16, 2026.
