Shaun Tan’s Hometown is a visually gorgeous, emotionally stunning, funny, and insightful exploration of identity, and what it means to be home

From the singular mind and brush of New York Times bestselling and Academy Award-winning author-artist Shaun Tan, comes his newest graphic novel, Hometown. It comes to shelves September 1, 2026 from Levine Querido Books.

Hometown is a visually gorgeous, emotionally stunning (and frequently funny) meditation about what it means to belong, and what makes us who we are. Hometown will be published simultaneously in the US, Australia, and the UK.

A girl grows up happily with her adoptive parents, a big sister and a little sister, and friends galore in a vibrant, close-knit community she adores . . . until a creature from outer space falls from the sky and claims (correctly) that she looks more like him than any of the beings she knows and loves. He urges her to go back with him. She doesn’t belong here. Can he be . . . right?

Hometown is a perfect companion to The Arrival, celebrating 20 years in 2026, Shaun Tan’s new masterpiece is a uniquely powerful, funny, and insightful exploration of identity, and what it means to be home.

You can pre-order it now from Amazon, Bookshop, and your local comic shop and bookstore.

Mind MGMT: New & Improved and Fort Psycho go Print First with Digital Release Delays

Oni Press has revealed that the first two new series released under superstar creator Matt Kindt’s Flux House imprint will feature an extended window of physical-only availability. Debuting in June and August, respectively, both Mind MGMT: New & Improved and Fort Psycho will be available exclusively at comic book retailers with no digital releases for either series until 30 days after the release of each series’ fourth issue.

Williams III. The series’ first issue will debut in comic shops everywhere on June 24th.

Then: Debuting in August, Fort Psycho #1 (of 12) – the 40-page first issue of the explosive new maxi-series from co-creators Matt Kindt and Brian Hurtt – will maximize the power of comic book storytelling in the most aggressive and high intensity manner ever attempted on the printed page, thanks to a new publishing format called PSYCHO-VISION. Upping the ante with upgrades across all 12 issues in Kindt and Hurtt’s masterclass in super-spy betrayal and subversion, each issue of Fort Psycho will feature panton-keyed covers on 10 pt. cardstock with a maximized, ad-free format brimming with back matter (to say nothing of the violence and harsh language).

Amelia Shadows Vol. 1: Amelia Shadows and the New Head Ghost

(w) Matthew Dow Smith (a) Matthew Dow Smith

Amelia Shadows has never had what you might call a “normal” childhood. For one thing, her dad’s the most powerful dark magician in the world. And for another, she’s spent her entire life in a house filled with ghosts and monsters and incredibly dangerous magical objects! As far as Amelia’s concerned, her life’s actually pretty cool.

When Amelia and her cat, Clara, aren’t having adventures or dealing with dimensional portals in the pantry, she’s learning to be a dark magician, just like her dad, with the help of a ghost tutor named Gustave. You’d think a ghost tutor named Gustave would be pretty fun, but he’s actually pretty boring.

And if a boring ghost tutor wasn’t bad enough, now Amelia’s dad has hired another ghost to oversee things, Hans. Which wouldn’t be that bad, except Hans has very strong opinions about how things should be around the house. This new head ghost has got to go, and Amelia may have a surprising ally…
