Dungeons & Dragons, Volo’s Guide to Monsters is Out Now

Wizards of the Coast has announced the release of the newest supplement to Dungeons & Dragons, Volo’s Guide to Monsters. In Volo’s Guide to Monsters, adventurers explore the breadth of D&D’s monsters in an immersive 224-page volume filled with beautiful illustrations and in-depth lore designed for the fifth edition. Volo’s Guide to Monsters provides something exciting for both players and Dungeon Masters and is now available online and at hobby stores and mass-market retailers across the country. Also, Volo’s Guide to Monsters will be released in a limited edition format exclusively available at core hobby stores that features an alternative-art cover beautifully illustrated by Hydro74.

The esteemed loremaster Volothamp Geddarm is back and he’s written a fantastical dissertation, covering some of the most iconic monsters in the Forgotten Realms. Unfortunately, the Sage of Shadowdale himself, Elminster, doesn’t believe Volo gets all the important details quite right. Don’t miss out as Volo and Elminster square off (academically speaking, of course) to illuminate the uninitiated on creatures both common and obscure. Uncover the machinations of the mysterious Kraken Society, what is the origin of the bizarre froghemoth, or how to avoid participating in the ghastly reproductive cycle of the grotesque vargouille.

Dungeon Masters and players will get some much-needed guidance planning their next ventures, traipsing about some dusty old ruin in search of treasure, lore, and let’s not forget … dangerous creatures whose horns, claws, fangs, heads, or even hides might comfortably adorn the walls of your trophy room. If you survive.

Listen to Kwanza Osajyefo and Tim Smith 3 Talk Black, Their Hit Comic Series on Demand

On demand: iTunes ¦ Sound Cloud ¦ Stitcher ¦ Listed on podcastdirectory.com

In a world that already hates and fears them – what if only Black people had superpowers?

After miraculously surviving being gunned down by police, a young man learns that he is part of the biggest lie in history. Now he must decide whether it’s safer to keep it a secret or if the truth will set him free.

This Monday we welcomed two of the individuals behind the comic series Black on Graphic Policy Radio. Kwanza Osajyefo and Tim Smith 3 will join us to talk about the series published by Black Mask Studios and which saw the second issue recently released after selling out the 22,000 copy print run of the first.

Creator and author of Black, Kwanza Osajyefo was a digital editor at both Marvel and DC Comics – best known for launching the latter’s Zuda imprint, which published series like the award-winning Bayou, High Moon, Night Owls, as well as Superton, Celadore, Black Cherry Bombshells, Bottle of Awesome, and I Rule the Night.

Co-creator and designer of Black, Tim Smith 3 (A.K.A. TS3), has been working in the comic industry for over 15 years. He created and self-published Red After the Party, and has worked on hit titles for publishers such as Marvel, Archie, and DC, just to name a few!

Valiant Debuts an Animated Trailer for Harbinger Renegade, On Sale November 16th!

Valiant has released a fully animated video trailer for Harbinger Renegade #1 – the FIRST ISSUE of the ALL-NEW ONGOING SERIES by multiple Harvey Award nominee Rafer Roberts and superstar artist Darick Robertson with special guests Raul Allen and Juan Jose Ryp in stores on November 16th!

Already sold out of its 46,000-copy print run at the distributor level, the most important Valiant series of the year arrives tomorrow with an explosive 40-page first issue packed with all-new content and an all-new jumping-on point for Valiant’s most subversive team of superpowered teenage upstarts! After kicking off with an all-new introduction to the world of Harbinger with artwork by Raul Allen, meet the Valiant Universe’s next major adversary with the first appearance of Alexander Solomon – the titular “renegade” that will forever change the fate and ultimate future of Peter Stanchek, Faith “Zephyr” Herbert, and the rest of Valiant’s high-powered superteam – in a never-before-seen prologue with artwork by Juan Jose Ryp!

Anyone you know could become a psionically powered “harbinger” with the potential to reshape the course of human history. Your neighbor. Your boss. Your best friend. Your kids.

Six months ago, a secret team of renegade whistleblowers leaked the existence of these extraordinarily dangerous individuals to a stunned world. Today, all across the country, crude, DIY psiot activation attempts have left hundreds brain damaged…or worse. The emergence of a new psiot in a community often leads to riots and mass violence. Gun sales are through the roof.

America is terrified of what could happen next.

With this revolutionary upheaval now in motion, Kris Hathaway, John “Torque” Torkelson, Faith “Zephyr” Herbert, and Peter Stanchek are about to discover their calling. Together, the Harbinger Renegades are moving from town to town, building their ranks, and subverting authority one mind at a time…and setting out to prove once and for all that behind their power, there has always been a purpose.
