Assorted Crisis Events is Getting a Full-Series Reprint!

Seven issues of the wildly popular Assorted Crisis Events series out so far—by writer Deniz Camp, artist Eric Zawadzki, colorist Jordie Bellaire, and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou—have been wiped out completely at the distributor level yet again. Image Comics will rush Assorted Crisis Events #1-7 back to print this week in order to keep up with surging demand.

In Assorted Crisis Events, Time has no bounds in this world, and readers will follow in the footsteps of normal people who are just trying to get through a normal day, but instead have to deal with time loops and space portals, confused time travelers from different eras, and alternate dimensional versions of themselves…all while just taking a stroll down the street. Meanwhile, the overarching story dives into what caused the rules of time to suddenly shift, and if it’s possible to reverse the damage. Fans of Crisis on Infinite EarthsBlack Mirror, and Doctor Who will enjoy this time-bending, clock-shattering new series.

Available at comic book shops on Wednesday, May 6.

Wyatt Kennedy and Luigi Formisano’s Nights returns with a New Arc this July

Writer Wyatt Kennedy and rising star artist Luigi Formisano’s ongoing vampire series Nights will awaken to an all-new story arc this July from Image Comics. Nights #19 kicks off a blood-curdling new chapter in the story and picks up where the jaw-dropping events of #12 left off.

In Nights #19, Vince, now a vampire, has finally awoken from a three month long coma and Gray is nowhere to be seen. Chimera’s forces are closing in on the duo, determined to capture the monster responsible for the town’s destruction but first they’ll have to contend with the arrival of the legendary (and bloodthirsty) vampire conquistador, Eda!

Nights #19 will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, July 1.

Find out how Hela Got the Throne and How Thor Could Turn the Tide in Queen in Black: Hela and Queen in Black: Thor

Hela and Knull’s cosmic collision unleashes HEL ON EARTH in Queen in Black, a new crossover event from Venom writer Al Ewing and superstar artist Iban Coello. Kicking off in July, the event will be told across a five-issue main series as well key tie-ins like the recently announced Queen in Black: Defenders of Light and Dark limited series and two one-shots from Ewing himself: Queen in Black: Hela #1 and Queen in Black: Thor #1.

Representing Asgard’s role in the event, the two one-shots will deliver pivotal chapters for the overall Queen in Black saga and significantly impact Ewing’s current Thor run. With art by Carlos Magno, Queen in Black: Hela #1 will reveal just how Hela rose to the throne, including her vicious takedown of Knull that led to the current Knull limited series. The one-shot takes place during the Immortal Thor era of Ewing’s run, while Queen in Black: Thor #1, drawn by artist Sergio Davila, takes place in the present Mortal Thor era and sees Hela target the mysterious mortal Sigurd Jarlson, who may be the one hero worthy of ending her reign…

THE QUEEN TAKES HER THRONE!

All the secrets of the Queen in Black – revealed in Queen in Black: Hela! Why were Hela and Tyr in Midgard when the Rainbow Bridge fell? How did she cage Knull, God of the Void? And which Thor tried to stop her? Balder the Brave seeks the answers from Karnilla of the Norns… but will he live to tell anyone else?

Then in Queen in Black: Thor, as Beta Ray Bill battles Hela at the edge of space, he considers his role as the heir of Thor’s story… little dreaming that the story continues with Sigurd Jarlson or that the Death-Goddess has plans for the Mortal Thor. Somewhere in the city, a man with a hammer is about to face the ultimate test.

An openly Lesbian couple survives and thrives in 19th century Vermont–a true story, as told by Tillie Walden

The month is February in the year 1807. The place is Weybridge, Vermont: small, cold, lonely, and beautiful. Sylvia Drake is exhausted. As an unwed woman with few prospects, she is residing with and caring for her sister’s rambunctious family. Today the house is abuzz awaiting a guest―Charity Bryant. A friend of the family, she is most known for her elegant letters, with their swoopy and evocative penmanship and carefully chosen prose. But Charity’s visit is a guise, she is coming to Vermont to start over after heartbreak and rumours―so many rumours―that have grown too loud back in Massachusetts.

Being openly gay in 19th century New England is not an easy row to hoe. But Charity can only be herself, and she immediately catches―and holds―the eye of none other than Sylvia Drake. From this point on, for 44 years, the two would be inseparable, building a life together despite all odds and living as a lesbian couple in small town Vermont.

The true, exceptional story of these remarkable women is brought to life with humor and passion by the unparalleled and award-winning Tillie Walden (Spinning, On A Sunbeam). We see America grow alongside these women over a period that brings about the railroad, many novels, 14 Presidents, riots, rebellion, plagues, and poetry. Based on extensive archives of their writing, Charity and Sylvia is a groundbreaking biography that is also the story of 19th century America.

Charity and Sylvia is out in stores June 16.
