Hoppers Jumps Into First Place as Scream 7 Tumbles

Hoppers

Hoppers was the top of the box office with a debut of $46 million domestically and $42 million internationally for a worldwide debut of $88 million. While it wasn’t the juggernaut you’d expect with Disney and Pixar. How well it does over time will be the interesting aspect and with Spring Break and Easter coming up, it’s a time for families going to the movies, so this might be a long play as opposed to blockbuster out of the gate.

As expected, Scream 7 dropped to second place, but dropped pretty hard. It grossed $17.3 million, a 72.8% decrease from the previous week. But, domestically it has now grossed $93.4 million after two weeks. Over the week, it grossed $23 million to bring its international gross to $56.1 million for a worldwide gross of $149.5 million. There is little doubt the film will be the top grossing film of the franchise and might be the first to cross $200 million at the box office by the time it’s done.

The Bride! debuted in third place with a clunker of a return, $7.3 million domestically and $6.3 million internationally for a worldwide debut of $13.6 million. With little promotion, it’s not too surprising the movie didn’t perform.

GOAT came in fourth place after being in second last week. It grossed $6.6 million to bring its domestic gross to $83.8 million. Over the week, it grossed $6 million to lift its international total to $62.5 million and now at $146.3 million worldwide.

Wuthering Heights rounded out the top five after being in third place. It grossed $3.8 million domestically to bring that to $78.8 million. Over the week, it grossed $15.2 million internationally to bring that to $134.9 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $213.7 million.

In comic related movies…

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie – Infinity Castle jumped into 10th place with $1.3 million domestically. It has now grossed $135.8 million. Internationally, the movie added about $500,000 and is now just shy of $599 million. Its worldwide gross is $734.8 million.

All You Need Is Kill remained gained about $200 over the week and is at $695,290 domestically and internationally has jumped up to $45,666 for a worldwide gross of $740,956.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution remained at $16.6 million domestically. Internationally, it also sits at $27.9 million for a worldwide gross of $44.5 million.

Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc remained at $43.4 million domestically. Internationally, the movie gained about $500,000 and has grossed $119.7 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $163.1 million.

Numbers have 71 movies grossing $95,862,120 from 34,292 theaters for an average of $2,795.47. That is compared to last week’s 77 movies grossing $113,402,951 from 36,550 theaters for an average of $3,102.68.
