GoGoGoGo-Go-Ghost! Vol. 1 is interesting but doesn’t give us a protagonist to empathize with

After an illicit affair at her promising first job fell through, office worker Ushiro Akechi has slid down to rock bottom. All the world has in store for her now are temporary gigs, a lonely, run run-down apartment, and plain rice for dinner. With a life like that, would death be any worse…? What she really needs is an older-sister type to talk her back from the edge! Luckily, she is about to meet oneabout one–from the other side! Alleged Guardian Spirit and self self-proclaimed Big Sis Masako is here to take Ushiro under a ghostly wing! Together, can they turn a brush with death into the start of a gloriously funny new partnership?! Oh, honey– Thy grudge shall be avenged!

Atomic Mass Games reveals Apocalypse and his Four Horseman for Marvel: Crisis Protocol

Apocalypse is coming… to Atomic Mass Games‘ tabletop miniature game Marvel: Crisis Protocol. The massive figure was revealed as well as a tease as to what we can expect from it and some terrain to go with the release.

Apocalypse brings his own affiliation for the game. This ultimate encounter will pit you against Apocalypse and his Four Horsemen. Players will have a limited option for each of the Four Horsemen and to field all 4, you’ll need a minimum threat of 16. Archangel will be able to be either Death or Pestilence.

Apocalypse is massive, coming on a 65mm base. He’s immune to all status’ on his injured side making him difficult to deal with and sure to be a challenge. Check out his rules and the rules for the Horsemen.

Apocalypse features arm options which are sure to bring out the modeling fun of the hobby and there’s three terrain sets you can use to make a thematic table while you battle.

Weapon X, Maverick, Sunspot, and Warlock are coming to Marvel: Crisis Protocol

Atomic Mass Games has revealed two new releases for Marvel: Crisis Protocol, the miniature tabletop wargame. The first set features Weapon X and Maverick while the second features Sunspot and Warlock. Both sets are slated to be released September 13.

The Weapon X and Maverick character pack sees the Weapon X program coming to the game. The set features a new take on Wolverine as well as the debut of Maverick. Other notable Weapon X alumnus already in the game include Wolverine, Sabretooth, Deadpool, X-23, and a few others we can debate about. The set features the two miniatures, 2 character stat cards, 2 team tactic cards, and 1 token sheet. It’ll retail for $39.99.

Wolverine debuted in The Incredible Hulk #180 in 1974 and was created by Len Wein, Herb Trimpe, and Barry Windsor-Smith. The classic story “Weapon X” appeared in Marvel Comics Presents #72-84 in 1991 by Windsor-Smith. Maverick debuted in X-Men #5 from 1992 and created by John Byrne and Jim Lee.

The Sunspot and Warlock character set is the debut of both characters in the game and gives us a hope for a New Mutants faction. The set features both characters’ miniatures, 2 character stat cards, 5 team tactic cards, and 1 token sheet. Other members of the New Mutants already in the game includes Magick. It’ll retail for $39.99.

Sunspot debuted in Marvel Graphic Novel #4: The New Mutants in 1982 and was created by Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod. Warlock was created by Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz and debuted in 1984 in The New Mutants #18.

DC goes “All In” with a New Publishing Initiative

DC Comics held a livestream featuring Scott Snyder and Joshua Williamson where they announced a new publishing initiative called “All In.”

The focus of the new initiative is the bring everyone together with a shared goal which is to celebrate comics and elevate the classic elements of DC’s history.

Part of this initiative is “Absolute DC” which Snyder will help spearhead. This new universe is a modernized take on DC’s characters much like Marvel’s “Ultimate” universe. The goal is to create a new universe that will be alongside the current DC Universe and won’t be replacing the current one. The project has been in the works for around two years according to Snyder.

All In #1 will kick off in September with all of DC’s book being a part of this starting in October. All In will be written by Snyder and Williamson and drawn by Daniel Sampere and the other half drawn by Wes Craig. Half the story is from Superman’s perspective while the other is from Darkseid’s.

All of this spins out of the current summer event Absolute Power. Darksied senses something that sets him off in a quest that puts him in conflict with a new Justice League. This conflict creates the Absolute DC Universe.

The Absolute universe is a darker one where the heroes are underdogs which means the heroes will need to be more resourceful and shine brighter.

Expect more to be announced during San Diego Comic-Con.

Youth Group is a fun read that mixes Church Youth Groups with Buffy

When cynical, gothy Kay lets her mom talk her into joining the youth group at their church, she’s prepared for the dorky sing-alongs and the cheesy slogans about dodging temptation. What she isn’t prepared for is walking in on the clean-cut youth group leaders, Meg and Cortland, in the middle of a real-deal exorcism.
Turns out these wholesome Christian teens are demon-hunting soldiers in a secret war that’s heating up fast.
