Graphic Policy’s Top Comic Picks this Week!

Space Ghost #9

Wednesdays are new comic book day! Each week hundreds of comics are released, and that can be pretty daunting to go over and choose what to buy. That’s where we come in

Each week our contributors choose what they can’t wait to read this week or just sounds interesting. In other words, this is what we’re looking forward to and think you should be taking a look at!

Find think below, and what comics you should be looking out for

Absolute Batman #18 (DC Comics) – The Absolute version of Poison Ivy is a thing of nightmares… and we’re totally into it.

Alias: Red Band #1 (Marvel) – Jessica Jones is back!!!!

Crownsville #5 (Oni Press) – A fantastic mix of horror and history with some amazing art.

D’Orc #2 (Image Comics) – We enjoyed the first issue which had some great art mixed with an interesting fantasy world. Add in a little humor and we’re excited to dive more into the world.

The Exorcism at Buckingham Palace #1 (IDW Publishing) – The first volume focused on horror in the White House and now the series heads across the ocean!

Imperial Guardians #1 (Marvel) – The new Marvel cosmic space has been a lot of fun and Loki bringing this team together has Avengers formation vibes. But, we’re down for a weird mix of characters in a superhero group. Add in the fact that the Inhumans are clearly up to something…

No Place #4 (Ignition Press) – It’s basically X-Files but focused on classic stories than aliens.

Ordained #2 (Bad Idea) – The series has a solid 80s action vibe, and Bad Idea seems to be embracing that as a whole. This one involves a Priest who’s targeted by mobsters, but that Priest has a past of his own.

The Other/Half #1 (Ignition Press) – A husband must clear his partner’s name.

A Quiet Place: Storm Warning #1 (IDW Publishing) – The movie franchise shifts to comics!

Space Ghost #9 (Dynamite Entertainment) – Great storytelling with awesome art. It’s one of the best superhero comics on the shelves right now.

Tigress Island #1 (Image Comics) – Down-on-their-luck actresses are kidnapped and taken to an island controlled by a sadistic female warden. We’re getting a 70s exploitation vibe from this one.

Transformers #30 (Skybound) – Elita-1 and Optimus clash.

Usagi Yojimbo: Kaito ’84 #1 (Dark Horse) – We read the ashcan for this and loved the concept which follows a descendent of the classic character in the 80s. Queue the synth music and put on some neon clothes.

X-Men United #1 (Marvel) – We’re a bit mixed on “Shadows of Tomorrow” but want to see how this X book stands out from the rest.
