Wednesdays are new comic book day! Each week hundreds of comics are released, and that can be pretty daunting to go over and choose what to buy. That’s where we come in
Each week our contributors choose what they can’t wait to read this week or just sounds interesting. In other words, this is what we’re looking forward to and think you should be taking a look at!
Find think below, and what comics you should be looking out for
Absolute Batman #13 (DC Comics) – The series has been excellent and this version of Bane is a terror. Add in the greater mystery of what’s going on and we’re hooked.
Amazing X-Men #1/Binary #1/Laura Kinney: Sabretooth #1/Longshots #1/World Of Revelation #1 (Marvel) – The “Age of Revelation” get the first issues of a lot of the series set in it!
Astrobots Volume 2 #1 (Massive) – We loved the first volume which focused on a society of robots overtaken by corruption and a resistance to it all. If you dig Transformers, you’ll like this.
Black Diamond #2 (Panick Entertainment) – The first issue was solid horror about a father whose son is kidnapped on a ski slope.
C.O.R.T.: Children Of The Round Table #23 (DC Comics) – An all-ages creator-owned series and the debut issue was a hell of a lot of fun for kids and adults
Cul-De-Sac #3 (Bad Idea) – The series has been an interesting spin on the traditional vampire story with kids on the run from vampire hunters after learning they’re some sort of one and their families being butchered.
DC K.O. #1 (DC Comics) – DC’s fall/winter event kicks off here and it sounds like a video game brawler come to the comic page.
Death To Pachuco #1 (Image Comics) – During the summer of 1943, Los Angeles became a hotbed of tension and conflict as a series of fierce clashes erupted between U.S. Navy members and Mexican American youth stemming from the murder of Carlos Urbano. Private eye Ricardo “Ricky” Tellez needs to find the Sleep Lagoon Killer before the racist mob kills him in the Zoot Suit Riots. Rooted in real history!
Deluge #1 (Ignition Press) – We read the teaser comic of this and the concept of a flood that hides a greater terror slowly taking over a prison sounds like an interesting one.
Event Horizon: Dark Descent #2 (IDW Publishing) – We were scared shitless of the film and the first issue delivered that feeling. Here’s to more unease!
Guy In The Chair #1 (Dark Horse) – Support for a field operative named Merlin falls in love with her and things get crazy when Merlin shows up at his door bloody, beaten, and pleading for help.
Marian Heretic #1 (BOOM! Studios) – Described as “a provocative new take on nunsploitation, religious horror, and rebellion.” Yeah, we’re in.
Masterminds #2 (Dark Horse) – A solid take on the secret society initiation concept with the video game industry mixed in. It’ll leave you guessing how to solve the puzzles and what is and isn’t real.
Temporal #1 (Mad Cave Studios) – A heist story involving traveling through time to steal stuff is enough but this teases to expect something much more to it.
Transformers #25 (Skybound) – Robert Kirkman and Dan Mora take over and the issue is fantastic!
