Graphic Policy’s Top Comic Picks this Week!
Wednesdays are new comic book day! Each week hundreds of comics are released, and that can be pretty daunting to go over and choose what to buy. That’s where we come in
Each week our contributors choose what they can’t wait to read this week or just sounds interesting. In other words, this is what we’re looking forward to and think you should be taking a look at!
Find think below, and what comics you should be looking out for
Absolute Batman #12 (DC Comics) – Just a fantastic series and we have no idea what type of torture will go through next at the hands of Bane.
Battle Action #8, Battle Action #9, Battle Action #10 (Rebellion) – If you’re a fan of war and action comics, you shouldn’t miss this trio of releases. The series is always entertaining and some times educational about the history of the characters and comics within.
Blue Falcon and Dynomutt #1 (Dynamite Entertainment) – Dynamite has been doing an amazing job of reviving classic cartoon properties so we’re hoping this hits that high bar too.
C.O.R.T.: Children of the Round Table #1 (DC Comics) – The series is an interesting one as it sounds like a mix of Arthurian Legend focused on kids. The fact DC is diving into creator-owned again is even more intriguing.
Feral #16 (Image Comics) – The series is fantastic horror that has art that’s cute but a Walking Dead vibe underneath.
InvestiGators Case Files Vol. 1 (First Second) – The series is always a fun read for kids and adults with spy like action and a lot of humor.
It Killed Everyone But Me #1 (Mad Cave Studios) – The series sounds like interesting horror as a survivor must deal with the past when two teens disappear in the present.
Murder Podcast #1 (Ignition Press) – A podcast is driving people to kill!
Powers 25 #1 (Dark Horse) – The classic superhero cop series is back celebrating 25 years and it’ll be interesting to see what it’s like reading it in today’s world.
Punisher Red Band #1 (Marvel) – The Punisher is back and it’s an “R-rated” comic!
Racer X #1 (Mad Cave Studios) – The main Speed Racer series is solid so we’re excited to see what this tie-in series will be like. It’s got a high bar to match!
Red Hood #1 (DC Comics) – An adult focused Red Hood series? Yes, please!
Space Ghost Vol. 2 #2 (Dynamite Entertainment) – The series is fantastic and one of the best superhero comics on the shelves. It does an amazing job of balancing issues you can enjoy on their own but also tie into a meta story that runs each volume.
Superman: The Kryptonite Spectrum #2 (DC Comics/Black Label) -The first issue was a lot of fun as Superman has to deal with new types of Kryptonite that have unknown affects on him.
Survive #1 (Bad Idea) – A Russian and an American are trapped in a sinking sub and they’re focusing on killing each other before time runs out.
T.A.M.A. #2 (Panick Entertainment) – The first issue was some interesting horror. I little Gremlins. A little Pokémon. A little Lawnmower Man. We want to know how these virtual pets are killing people!!!
Transformers #24 (Skybound) – Daniel Warren Johnson’s amazing run wraps up and the review copy we got sent is redacted which says a lot!
Ultimate Wolverine #9 (Marvel) – The series has been solid with great art and seeing Wolverine actually struggle with his past actions is a nice touch.
