Graphic Policy’s Top Comic Picks this Week!

Captain America #1

Wednesdays are new comic book day! Each week hundreds of comics are released, and that can be pretty daunting to go over and choose what to buy. That’s where we come in

Each week our contributors choose what they can’t wait to read this week or just sounds interesting. In other words, this is what we’re looking forward to and think you should be taking a look at!

Find think below, and what comics you should be looking out for

Absolute Green Lantern #4 (DC Comics) – The series has been an excellent mix of horror and sci-fi and we want to know what the hell happened with Abin Sur and the town trapped in the bubble of energy.

Captain America #1 (Marvel) – It’s a new era for Captain America as Chip Zdarsky takes the helm as writer and takes us back to the early days of Captain America with an untold tale that impacts today.

Comics Of The Movement #1 (Good Trouble Comics) – A collection of two classic comics used in political movements. There’s also some extra material diving further into the history. Check out our review, this is a must for those that love history.

Dr. Werthless The Man Who Studied Murder And Nearly Killed The Comics Industry (Dark Horse) – Harold Schechter and Eric Powell delivered one of the best graphic novels in the past few years with Did You Hear What Eddie Gein Done? and we’re expecting similar excellence with this graphic novel about Dr. Fredric Wertham, the zealot who stirred up panic regarding comics and more.

Gehenna: Naked Aggression #1 (Image Comics) – It’s a simple tale of revenge as a woman goes after the mob who killed her husband.

G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #318 (Skybound) – The series has been fantastic and does a great job of balancing the goofy with the serious. If you’re a fan of the property, it’s a great time to dive back in.

Killer Affairs Of The State II #2 (BOOM! Studios) – We love The Killer series and the latest volume shakes things up with the Killer debating if he should help out individuals being trafficked near his hideaway, a break from his usual being paid to kill. Solid action with some moral debates.

Ultimate Wolverine #7 (Marvel) – The series has been fantastic so far and with Logan now captured by the Resistance and his programming being undone, it’ll be interesting to see the direction of the series.

Unico Volume 2 Hunted (Graphix) – The first volume of this series was fantastic as the classic property got a new life. We’re beyond excited to read more and see if the second volume is just as magical.
