Graphic Policy’s Top Comic Picks this Week!
Wednesdays are new comic book day! Each week hundreds of comics are released, and that can be pretty daunting to go over and choose what to buy. That’s where we come in
Each week our contributors choose what they can’t wait to read this week or just sounds interesting. In other words, this is what we’re looking forward to and think you should be taking a look at!
Find think below, and what comics you should be looking out for
Absolute Batman #3 (DC Comics) – It’s a rock and roll back to basics take on Batman and we’re down for it.
Batman and Robin: Year One #3 (DC Comics) – Mark Waid and Chris Samnee are putting on a masterclass with this series. It’ll be a modern classic the way it’s going.
Challengers of the Unknown #1 (DC Comics) – The classic group is back and we’re intrigued as to what this series will be liked based on their appearances in other “All In” series.
G.I. Joe #2 (Skybound) – The first issue was fantastic bringing together the Joes for the first time but it ended in tragedy and has us at the edge of our seats.
Hellverine #1 (Marvel) – The concept is silly but there’s times that’s exactly what you need and want.
Missing on the Moon #1 (Mad Cave Studios) – Crime runs rampant on a Lunar colony in 1997. Yeah, we’re in for this noir comic.
The New Gods #1 (DC Comics) – The classic characters are back and we’re excited to see what’s done with them!
The Power Fantasy #5 (Image Comics) – Every issue has been fantastic so far and this is one series that’ll keep people talking and coming back to longer after it’s done.
Power Rangers Prime #2 (BOOM! Studios) – It’s the Power Rangers remixed and we’re intrigued as to where it’s going after that debut issue.
The Question: All Along the Watchtower #2 (DC Comics) – We’re suckers for a good mystery and the first issue was setting up a good one.
Spectregraph #4 (DSTLRY) – The previous issue really got our attention with its teases to real history and we want to see if and how that’s used.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #5 (IDW Publishing) – If you’re a Turtles fan or have wanted to check them out, this latest volume is the perfect jumping in point.
TVA #1 (Marvel) – There’s some issues with the TVA in the Marvel comic universe but we’re intrigued by its inclusion and increased profile due to the live action stuff.
Ultimate Spider-Man #12 (Marvel) – One of the best comic series on the shelf right now.
War on Gaza (Fantagraphics Books) – While we don’t always agree with what Joe Sacco says or reports, we’re always interested in listening to what he has to say.
Yellow (Dark Horse) – Set in an alternate future amid a Second Civil War, wounded infantryman Nick Carson flees the battlefield and escapes across the wasteland of war-torn America. We’re suckers for that sort of story.
