SDCC 2024: Street Noise Books’ Publisher heads to the convention with a panel

Street Noise

Street Noise makes nonfiction and memoir graphic novels that powerfully combine words and images. Street Noise books have a radical, intersectional feminist, queer, and inclusive vision, and provide a platform for the voices of marginalized people. Publisher Liz Frances was inspired to found Street Noise after a career working in mainstream publishing and seeing the change that books can make in the world – and looking at the world and seeing the changes needed and happening.

Following its launch in 2020, Street Noise has published books on topics ranging from climate change to sexual assault and eating disorders, Native American identity, and the conflict in Palestine. Street Noise graphic novels have received starred reviews and been recognized by awards.

Liz will be participating in Publisher Weekly’s Book Buzz – Spotlight on Independent Publishers and New Imprints on Thursday, July 25th at 3:30pm in room 24ABC. She will be speaking about the importance of independent and countercultural publishers in American today, and about mission-driven publishers’ challenges in rewriting social norms.
