Wonka hangs on to first place at the weekend box office while Aquaman crosses $100 million

It was an unremarkable weekend at the box office as Wonka took the top place. The film grossed an estimated $14.4 million to bring its domestic total to $164.7 million. Over the week, it grossed $56.8 million internationally to bring that total to $301.2 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed an impressive $465.9 million.

Night Swim opened in second place with an estimated $12 million domestically, $5.7 million internationally, and a total of $17.7 million worldwide.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom slipped to third place with an estimated $10.6 million to bring its domestic total to just over $100 million. Over the week, it grossed $61.3 million internationally to bring that to $234.8 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $334.8 million.

Migration slipped one spot to come in fourth with an estimated $10.3 million to bring its domestic total to $77.8 million. Over the week, the film grossed $26.4 million to bring its international total to $72.9 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $150.7 million.

Anyone But You held on to fifth place with an estimated $9.5 million to bring its domestic total to $43.7 million. It grossed $8.9 million over the week internationally to bring that total to $14.7 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $58.4 million.

In comic film news…

The Marvels‘ domestic total remained steady at $84.5 million. Things are going a bit better internationally where the film added a little under $200,000 over the week to bring it to $121.4 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $205.9 million.

The week’s overall box office success…

Numbers have 50 films earning $85,677,606 from 35,445 theaters. That’s a drop from the previous weekend’s $112,725,948 from 36,346 theaters and 49 films. The average earning was $2,417.20 which is far less than the previous weekend’s $3,101.47.
