Friends and colleagues have announced that Tim Sale has passed away. He died peacefully today, June 16th.

Sale was an award-winning comic artist who began his career in 1983 on MythAdventures. Sale is mostly known for his collaborations with Jeph Loeb on the modern classics Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight Halloween Specials, Batman: The Long Halloween, Batman: Dark Victory, as well as Superman for All Seasons, and Catwoman: When in Rome.

He also worked at Marvel on the “color” books such as Daredevil: Yellow, Spider-Man: Blue, Hulk: Gray, and Captain America: White.

Sale won an Eisner Award in 1999.

It was announced a few days ago that he was admitted to a hospital with “severe health issues”. He was 66 years old.
