The final numbers aren’t out so things might change but it was a pretty solid (relatively) weekend at the box office with three films over $10 million and a close race for first

A Quiet Place Part II takes the top spot with an estimated $12 million. That brings the domestic total to just under $109 million after three weeks. Internationally, the film brought in $40.3 million over the week to raise that total to $90.3 million Worldwide, the film stands at $199.2 million.

In second place was In the Heights which debuted as well on HBO Max. The film earned an estimated $11.5 million. No international totals have been released so far.

In third place was another debut, Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway which earned an estimated $10.4 million domestically. Internationally, the film has grossed $57.9 million. Worldwide, the total is $68.3 million.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It dropped all the way from first place to fourth. The film earned an estimated $10 million to bring its domestic total to $43.8 million. Internationally, the film over doubled its previous weekend over the week adding earning $34.9 million. Internationally, the film’s total is $68 million. That brings the worldwide gross to $111.8 million.

Rounding out the top five was Cruella which take a dive from last weekend’s third place. The film added $6.7 million to its domestic gross to bring that to $56 million. Internationally, the film earned $29.9 million over the week. Worldwide, the film has grossed $129.3 million.

Initial numbers have 43 films earned $56,973,395 from 28,606 theaters. That’s a decrease from last weekend’s 41 films which earned $66,072,955 from 27,913 theaters. Despite a decrease of around $9 million, the weekend was still one of the better ones of the year so far with four films earning over $10 million. The average earning was $1,991.66 this past weekend, a decrease from the previous weekend’s $2,429.78.
